As a seasoned Star Wars Outlaws player with countless hours under my belt, I must say that the Rancor boss fight is one of those moments that truly tests your mettle. The adrenaline pumping through your veins as you dodge and weave around that monstrous beast, all while trying to strategize with your companions – it’s an experience that few other games can match.
In the game titled “Star Wars Outlaws“, Jabba the Hutt, a notorious slug-like crime boss, is a crucial character who significantly impacts the storyline. He acquires Nix, Kay’s companion, after she is robbed, leading our brave protagonist to venture into Jabba’s palace on a mission to save Nix. This main quest is one of the highlights in “Star Wars Outlaws“, yet it can also be quite frustrating during its final stages.
Despite eventually finding her cherished companion, merqaal, Kay unfortunately tumbles into Jabba’s pit, where she and Vale must join forces to subdue a fearsome Rancor. The initial stage of the battle against this boss seems manageable for players of Star Wars Outlaws, as they only need to detonate some barrels followed by luring the Rancor towards the hangar door. However, things take an unexpected turn when the conveyor belt transporting those explosive barrels comes to a halt.
How to Restart the Railing System During the Rancor Boss Fight
After repeatedly provoking the Rancor near the hangar entrance, the transportation barrel system will malfunction. At this point, Vale instructs Kay to search for a switch to reactivate the railing mechanism. The switch is located on a platform situated to the right of the hangar door, and it’s inaccessible without help. Attempting to shoot the lever with Kay’s blaster is futile. Consequently, players must instruct Nix to pull the lever instead.
To accomplish this task, players need to focus on pulling the lever initially. Following that, they should press either the L1 (for PlayStation) or LB (for Xbox) to bring up the Nix menu. If they’re close enough, they can then click the X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox) button to let Nix restore power. Afterward, all they have to do is wait for a red barrel to get near the Rancor, at which point they should shoot it with Kay’s blaster. Lastly, they need to lure the Rancor toward the hangar door so that it smashes it one more time.
Should players encounter difficulties with puzzles or missions within the game Star Wars Outlaws, it is likely they will need to utilize Nix in some manner, either directly or indirectly.
