As a long-time fan of Star Wars and an avid gamer, I’m beyond excited for Ubisoft’s upcoming title, Star Wars Outlaws. The game’s story premise, with its heist in the Outer Rim and potential surprises for fans, instantly grabbed my attention. I’ve experienced the thrill of a well-executed Star Wars story, and I believe Ubisoft Massive is on the right track.

As an avid fan, I’m excited about the potential storyline of “Star Wars Outlaws” by Ubisoft, despite some details being withheld for now. The premise seems intriguing on its own: my protagonist, Kay Vess, is in debt and devises a daring heist that could be the biggest in the Outer Rim’s history. This setup promises classic “Star Wars” rogue behavior and numerous references to cherished crime films.

As a gamer, I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting experiences in the Star Wars universe. While the premise of “Star Wars Outlaws” might not be entirely original, I have faith that Ubisoft Massive could use familiar tropes to their advantage. They could draw me in with a seemingly predictable storyline, only to unexpectedly flip the script and keep me on the edge of my seat. Just like last year’s “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” which followed a similar structure but delivered an engaging and effective story.

Star Wars Outlaws Should Include a Bode Akuna-Like Betrayal

Bode Akuna’s Betrayal Was a Highlight of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s Story

In a somewhat less intricately woven tale compared to “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” offered numerous captivating narrative instances. One such instance was the evolving relationship between Cal Kestis and Bode Akuna. Introduced from the get-go in “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” Bode Akuna is a fresh character in the sequel, teaming up with Cal on a secret mission to Coruscant. At first glance, Bode Akuna comes off as a typical rogue, a mercenary with a tender side concealed beneath his gruff demeanor.

As the story unfolds in “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” Bode becomes an essential part of Cal Kestis’ team, accompanying him on a journey across various planets in search of the legendary planet Tanalorr. The bond between Cal and Bode strengthens as the player progresses, adding weight to the shocking revelation of Bode’s betrayal.

Beginning the thrilling climax of “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” Bode Akuna shockingly unveils his double identity as an Imperial Spy and a former Jedi. Following the assassination of Jedi Master Cordova, Bode alerts the Empire to the concealed base of the Hidden Path on Jedha. Amidst a brief confrontation with Cal Kestis utilizing his newly disclosed Force abilities, Bode manages an escape from the planet. Fans are led to underestimate Bode Akuna due to his roguish “Star Wars” archetype, making this plot twist all the more effective.

Star Wars Outlaws’ Premise Paves the Way for a Betrayal

In the rogue-centric tale of “Star Wars Outlaws,” it’s common for the hero, Kay Vess, to experience betrayal at least once in the narrative. However, Ubisoft can add an unexpected twist to keep this trope fresh and avoid cliché. Similar to “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” “Star Wars Outlaws” could introduce a shocking turn of events where a typical Star Wars character’s storyline is flipped on its head.

In the closing scenes of “Star Wars Outlaws,” there’s a possibility that ND-5, the BX-Commando Droid who has been prominently featured in the game’s promotional materials, may turn against our protagonist, Kay. Contrary to the common Star Wars narrative, droids like ND-5 are typically portrayed as allies rather than adversaries. Based on the trailers that have been released, it appears that ND-5 will play a significant role in guiding Kay through her journey. However, if this character’s allegiance is reversed, it could result in a shocking and memorable moment in “Star Wars Outlaws.”
