Star Wars Outlaws Title Update 1.4.0

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that Star Wars Outlaws has been quite the rollercoaster ride. From its rocky start to its recent resurgence, it’s been an interesting journey indeed.

Following a bumpy debut and underwhelming sales that caused tremors within Ubisoft’s leadership, “Star Wars Outlaws” is now charging ahead with renewed vigor towards its path of reclamation.

As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled about the recent update from our new Creative Director, Drew Rechner. True to his word, he’s been working tirelessly to enhance the gaming experience, and patch 1.4 is a testament to that commitment. It’s addressed many of the early concerns we players had, making our gaming journey even more enjoyable!

Following the usual trend with the game “Outlaws”, this release packs quite a punch. Here are the file sizes for different platforms: It’s approximately 7.44 GB on PlayStation 5, 10.18 GB on Xbox, and 8.83 GB on PC.

Among numerous enhancements and quality-of-life upgrades, the refined stealth system stands out as indispensable.

There are some important fixes to story missions as well, but these contain spoilers. You can check them out on the game’s page, at your peril.

Improved Stealth and Combat

As per the updates detailed on the game’s webpage, players now enjoy greater freedom and control during their infiltration missions within enemy territories.

As a stealthy player, I can choose to sneak around, take down enemies unnoticed, or switch to all-out action when needed. And, should I find myself in syndicate-controlled areas, I’ve got the firepower to break through.

The enemy AI now feels closer to that of the stealth bible Metal Gear, giving you a warning when you are about to be detected.

Opponents have labels floating over their heads indicating their current status. White labels indicate they’re neutral, orange ones show they’re alerted, while red ones signify they’re engaged in battle.

This will give you a few seconds to decide whether you react by moving to cover or shooting it out.

For individuals who prefer a more aggressive approach, here’s a fresh take: Now, your adversaries possess vulnerable spots that, when struck, activate unique death sequences. In tight spots, you’ll find they offer some inventive escape routes too. If you happen to set off an explosion, these enemies will now momentarily stumble from the blast.

In simpler terms, Kay has the ability to wield two-handed weapons more frequently, both while on speeders and in other situations. Headshots will cause increased damage, and adjustments have been made to blasters to enhance the excitement of combat.

Quality-of-Life

From a quality-of-life perspective, you now possess greater control and authority while flying, enabling smoother execution of challenging jumps.

As a thrilled enthusiast, I can’t help but express my delight over the convenience of auto-transfer feature in climbing. Now, I effortlessly leap from one climbable object to another without needing to press a single button!

On the game map, you can now clear all markers at once by keeping the appropriate button pressed, as opposed to clearing them one-by-one manually.

Visual Upgrades

The improved facial expressions on vendors and non-player characters have made game dialogues feel less robotic, enhancing immersion. Additionally, during combat, camera movements have been polished, and players now have the option to manually perform a shoulder swap for better control.

Controller gamers get a massive boost with the Custom control preset. This lets you individually remap buttons and includes separate settings for Kay, the speeder, and the Trailblazer.

Community Bug Reporter

Star Wars Outlaws Title Update 1.4.0

To foster stronger connections within our fanbase, we’ve recently established a community bug tracking platform for Star Wars Outlaws. This allows you to monitor ongoing issues and track their status, while also having a dedicated section called “My Submitted Bugs” for your convenience.

Openly monitoring and addressing bugs in a project demonstrates transparency effectively, however, developers must take an active role to prevent criticism concerning deadlines or importance of fixing certain issues, as this can arise if not managed properly.

It seems that Outlaws could conclude 2024 with success, an unusual achievement for a more contemporary game by Ubisoft.
