Stardew Valley Dev Addresses Ports, Will Keep Future DLC & Updates Free

As a long-time fan and avid gamer, I can’t help but feel both excited and a little impatient upon hearing the latest updates from ConcernedApe regarding Stardew Valley. This game has been a constant companion in my life since its release back in 2016, providing endless hours of relaxation and enjoyment. The fact that new ports are still in development and the next PC update is underway is fantastic news, even if we don’t have an exact release date just yet.

Today, ConcernedApe, the creator of Stardew Valley, announced in a fresh batch of updates that the development of new versions of the game is ongoing.

The developer assured fans that they’ve been diligently working on the mobile version daily, but a definite launch date has yet to be determined. Meanwhile, the next PC update is also under development.

Instead of “ConcernedApe repeated that they will share ‘meaningful news,’ such as a release date, once it becomes available. The developer is deeply focused on creating ports and updates, which are constantly on their mind.”

The porting process for the updates on your device and the next PC version are currently underway. It’s been a lengthy process, constantly on my mind. Daily efforts have been put into mobile port development by me personally. I’ll share significant updates as soon as they become available (such as a release date). Enjoy your summer!

In the same conversation, ConcernedApe addressed a fan’s comment regarding pricing. The creator assured that they have no plans to charge for DLC or updates, stating, “I promise never to ask fans for payment on additional content or upgrades during my lifetime.” Additionally, they encouraged fans to save this message as evidence if they ever breach this commitment.

I’ve been hooked on Stardew Valley since its release back in 2016. And let me tell you, this farming and life simulation game is still going strong. Just recently, the developers announced some mind-blowing news – as of February 2024, an incredible 30 million copies of Stardew Valley have been sold! Can you believe it? That’s a lot of happy farmers out there!

Within a mere month after the release of the significant 1.6 update, Stardew Valley achieved its maximum number of players ever.

The recent update brought about the introduction of new festivals, finishing content, an entirely novel farming method, and much more. For those just starting out with Stardew Valley on new platforms, this indie favorite now provides a wealth of exciting new content to explore.
