A player of the game Stardew Valley has shared an intriguing finding, noting that one of the character’s work colleagues from Joja Corp appears to show up in Pelican Town at a later stage in the game. This is a noteworthy aspect that many players of Stardew Valley seem to have overlooked.

In Stardew Valley, players initially work for the giant corporation Joja, feeling unhappy while stuck at a desk. After deciding to break free from this routine, they move to Stardew Valley and inherit their Grandpa’s old farm. Although it appears as though the farmer has abandoned all remnants of their former life, the presence of a Joja Mart and its representative in town suggests otherwise. It turns out that at least one person from their previous job ends up visiting Pelican Town.

Reddit user Aggressive-Union562 highlighted an interesting detail: a woman seen working at Joja Mart in Stardew Valley reappears later in the game. In the opening scene of the game, when the camera sweeps across various Joja desks, a woman with blonde hair in a bun and wearing red can be spotted sitting behind one desk. Later, during the Stardew Valley Fair, a woman who looks identical to her is observed with her child at Pelican Town’s center. Although there’s no dialogue or interaction between characters, it appears that the same person took a break from their job at Joja to enjoy some time in the valley.

Joja Co-Worker Has Surprising Presence in Stardew Valley

Although just a small appearance by a colleague could be intriguing on its own, another person noticed that this same woman and her child are also depicted in the promotional art for the Stardew Valley Symphony. This inclusion is quite fascinating given the character’s seemingly minor role. Some have pondered whether it’s indeed the same woman, as the mother at the fair appears to have a noticeable nose, while the one at the Joja desk does not. However, due to the distinctive sprite style, certain features like noses might not be present in the initial sprite, or the character design may have evolved slightly over time.

It’s possible, but not absolutely confirmed, that this character is the same as another one in the game. Given the dedication and craftsmanship ConcernedApe has shown towards the title over time, it feels unlikely he would have created two similar NPCs unintentionally. Until he offers his thoughts on this, we can only speculate. With “Haunted Chocolatier” appearing to be set in the same universe, it’ll be intriguing to see if any familiar faces show up in that game.
