3. When you successfully capture the chicken, it will move into your coop and start laying eggs after some time. Keep observing the eggs laid by the chickens in your coop daily until you find a void egg.

4. Collect the void egg when found and take it to a Kitchen or Refrigerator on your farm. There, you can turn it into void mayonnaise using any standard recipe that requires an egg as an ingredient.

Getting and Upgrading a Coop

In Stardew Valley, just like with other types of chickens, you’ll first require a coop for them to reside in. To place the coop on your farm, just inform Robin about its desired location, and she’ll start working on it the next day. Additionally, to acquire a void chicken, you’ll need an upgraded coop. Go back to Robin with 10,000 gold, 400 wood, and 150 stone for this upgrade. Once done, you’ll be able to use an incubator in the coop, where a void egg can be placed once obtained.

Obtaining a Void Egg from the Witch

After constructing a coop on the farm and acquiring chickens, players might unexpectedly find “ghost” eggs, referred to as “void eggs.” Though uncommon, a witch could occasionally pass over a coop during nighttime, potentially leaving behind a void egg. However, it’s important to note that her visit doesn’t guarantee an egg, and even when she does appear, there’s no certainty that she will lay a void egg in the coop. The chance of a witch appearing is only 1%, making these events quite rare.

Obtaining a Void Egg from Krobus

Visiting Krobus is a more dependable method for acquiring a void egg, but there’s a catch: Krobus resides in the sewer system. At the beginning of the game, players may not yet have access to the sewers as a requirement.

To get hold of the key for the sewers, you’ll need to donate 60 distinct items (either gems or artifacts) to the museum. The total value of these items should add up to 60. If you’re looking for gems, explore the mines, and for artifacts, dig up spots around town where worms are found. Once you’ve collected enough, Gunther will show up at the farm the following day, bringing the Rusty Key that grants access to the sewers.

In both the forest and town, you’ll find sewer entrances. Upon entering, you’ll encounter Krobus who offers a variety of items for sale, including void eggs for 5,000 gold pieces. Once you secure one of these void eggs, bring it to the incubator in your coop and wait. Normally, it takes 6 days for the egg to hatch, but if you have the Coopmaster profession – attainable by reaching Farming Level 10 after choosing Rancher at Farming Level 5 – void chickens will hatch in just 3 days instead.

It’s important to mention that eggs similar to void ones can also be found in Void Salmon within a fish pond. However, it is crucial to know that you can’t catch Void Salmon unless you’ve previously gained access to Krobus.

Uses for Void Chickens

Empty-shelled chickens don’t offer any greater advantage over common chickens, but they are a superior version compared to blue chickens due to their consistent production of void eggs. These void eggs can be utilized in the mayonnaise maker to create void mayonnaise. However, void items make poor gifts as everyone except Sebastian and Krobus dislike void eggs, with even Sebastian expressing distaste for void mayonnaise. Despite this, both Sebastian and Krobus appreciate void eggs in their original state, and void eggs can be used interchangeably with regular eggs when cooking.

It’s important to remember that you should never attempt to eat Void Eggs found in Stardew Valley as they are toxic. In fact, the more superior the quality of an egg, the more potent the poison becomes.
