Launched in 2016, *Stardew Valley* became popular for its engaging mix of farming, exploration, and building, influencing many games that followed. One such game is *Overthrown*, where you play as a ruler with a magical crown, tasked with building a kingdom in a perilous world. You’ll need to gather materials, endure changing seasons, farm the land, construct buildings, and manage your kingdom’s growth. Keeping your citizens content and defending against mutant and bandit attacks are also crucial. After a lengthy period of development, *Overthrown* is about to receive significant updates.

Overthrown Releases Major Update and PlayStation 5 Version on October 16

I’m so excited! Overthrown is finally coming out on Thursday, October 16th! And it’s not just the release, it’s the huge Airship Update – Version 1.0! Basically, we’re getting airships in this farming sim, which is awesome. You can build your own and even attack enemy camps that *also* have airships. To help us defend, they’re adding a cannon tower – it’s different from the mortar because it can take down airships *and* ground troops. There’s even more! We’re getting three new outlaws, three new levels based on different environments, and if you manage to keep your Snappers alive for long enough, they’ll actually evolve into this crazy new creature called the Devourer. I can’t wait to play!

The game *Overthrown* is launching on PlayStation 5 alongside the release of Version 1.0 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. PlayStation players will also get the Airship Update. *Overthrown* was first announced in July 2024 and showcased at Gamescom, followed by a playable demo during the Steam Next Fest in October. It then became available on Xbox Game Pass and through Steam Early Access on PC in December 2024.

The Airship Update is the fourth big update for the 3D farm sim *Overthrown* this year. Earlier updates – Livestock, Nature, and Coastal – were released in January, March, and August, adding features like fire, fishing boats, and a redesigned interface. The developers have already shown off the main features of the Airship Update, but they say there will be even more surprises for players.
