A player who has invested more than 1,000 hours into the game “Stardew Valley” was taken aback to stumble upon a cutscene they had never witnessed before. It’s one of numerous unexpected moments that players of “Stardew Valley” have come across throughout the years.
Enthusiasts of Stardew Valley have been devoted to this game for nearly a decade, and it doesn’t seem to be losing popularity. The developer, ConcernedApe, regularly updates the game with fresh content and bug fixes, drawing players back to see what’s new. Yet, not all elements within the game are simple to locate or experience.
In Reddit, user Alacovv described an unexpected encounter in the game Stardew Valley: they stepped outside their home directly into a new cutscene, despite having invested over a thousand hours playing. The scene featured Willy, the town’s fisherman, who expressed his observation that the player hadn’t been fishing and decided to drop by with a tutorial on the art of fishing. By the end of the interaction, Willy presented the player with a complimentary fishing rod, leading to an increase in their fishing skill level after he demonstrated.
Stardew Valley Cutscene is Fairly Rare Among Players
In the game, not many players appear to have encountered this cutscene featuring Willy, though some may have known about it. Early in the game, Willy introduces himself to the player and offers a chance to discuss fishing with him. If the player fails to acquire a skill point before Spring of Year 1, this scene will occur automatically. The Training Rod that Willy provides adds to the player’s inventory is beneficial for beginners as it offers a more extensive fishing bar. However, the Training Rod has some limitations, allowing only basic fish catches and excluding bait or tackle usage.
It appears that many gamers might not have experienced this particular scene due to fishing being an effective method for earning money early in Stardew Valley. Consequently, most players would have tried it enough times to earn the initial skill point before the deadline. Introduced in the 1.6 update, the scene may not be visible to those who haven’t started a fresh game recently. Luckily, the Training Rod remains accessible for purchase from Willy at an affordable price of 25 gold coins.
Even though the 1.6 update for “Stardew Valley” was released more than a year ago, players continue to uncover and share unique findings within the game. If ConcernedApe decides to release another content update for “Stardew Valley” in the future, it could spark a fresh wave of rare discoveries yet again. Meanwhile, he is developing his next game, “Haunted Chocolatier.
