Starfield Is Teasing Something Big for its Second Anniversary

A cryptic post shared by Starfield’s social media team seems to suggest that a significant update is imminent. It has been close to two years since the debut of Starfield, and the game’s second anniversary on September 6 might bring fresh insights into what lies ahead in terms of developments for this space-themed action RPG.

For quite some time, Bethesda had been a well-known entity in the realm of action role-playing games due to their projects like The Elder Scrolls and later installments in the Fallout series. In 2018, they introduced Starfield to the world. Although it hasn’t achieved the same level of fame as its older sibling franchises, Bethesda remains dedicated to its self-created intellectual property. They continue to release updates for the game, even amidst ongoing varied responses from their gaming community.

Starfield Could Reveal Something Big on September 6

On the game’s official Twitter account, the development team expressed gratitude to players who have supported and delved into the Settled Systems. The post also features a 12-second animation that initially seems like a celebration of the game’s second anniversary. However, upon closer inspection, it transitions into 45 grid-based panels that seem to malfunction separately, unveiling different messages. Not all the hidden yellow panels are visible, but those that are show create the phrase “Terran Armada,” which is not among the existing factions in Starfield at present.

It has been confirmed that Bethesda is developing a second story expansion for the game Starfield, titled “Starborn” or possibly “Terran Armada”. The exact title might be a working one, but if it’s “Terran Armada”, fans may not be able to play it until 2026. However, there are rumors suggesting that they might get an early sneak peek during the game’s anniversary celebration.

There could be various meanings behind the term “Terran Armada.” Since “Terran” signifies something originating from Earth, and given that Earth is now a desert in the Starfield universe, it’s improbable for a new faction to emerge from there. However, “Armada,” which means a vast fleet of warships, could suggest a novel, land-based vehicle system joining Starfield, as the name seems to play on this concept. The Terran Marines, an elite military division of the United Colonies, also follow a similar naming pattern, leading to speculation that they might be connected in some way.
