The PS5 version of Starfield will offer special features using the DualSense controller, like adaptive triggers and the Touch Pad for navigating menus. If you play Starfield on a PS5 Pro, you’ll also have access to enhanced graphics options – Pro Visual and Pro Performance modes – that utilize PlayStation’s Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology for improved visuals.
On Tuesday, April 7th, Starfield will be available on PS5, along with the Terran Armada expansion and a free update called Free Lanes. All Starfield players will receive the Free Lanes update – you don’t need to buy the Terran Armada expansion to get it. Even though Starfield was initially released only on Xbox consoles, PlayStation fans quickly pre-ordered the game on the PlayStation Store, and it quickly became a top-five bestseller, second only to the open-world RPG Crimson Desert.
Starfield Has Some Nifty Features For PS5 Players To Use
When Starfield launches on PS5 on April 7th, players will enjoy some features designed specifically for the console. The PS5’s DualSense controller will add resistance when firing weapons, making it feel more realistic. The controller’s light bar will also change color to reflect the player’s health – it will turn red when health is low and return to normal when health is restored. Players can quickly access the mission log by tapping the left side of the touchpad, and voice logs will play through the controller’s built-in speaker for a more immersive experience. It’s currently unknown if these features will be available for the PC version of Starfield on Steam.
Starfield will include graphics settings for both the standard PS5 and the new PS5 Pro. The PS5 Pro will have two special modes: Pro Visual and Pro Performance. Both of these modes use a technology called PSSR to enhance the game’s visuals. Pro Visual Mode will target a 4K resolution at 30 frames per second, while Pro Performance Mode will aim for a smoother 60 frames per second. Players with a standard PS5 will have similar graphics options to those on the Xbox Series X/S, including the ability to choose between 40 and 60 frames per second. We’ll have to wait and see exactly how the graphics settings on the standard PS5 compare to those on the PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X/S.
Starfield on PS5 Is Long Overdue
Bethesda’s game director, Todd Howard, has stated that bringing Starfield to the PS5 has been a long-term goal. He mentioned in an interview that Bethesda has a strong relationship with PlayStation and expects Starfield to eventually be available on the console. Considering that other popular Bethesda games like Fallout 76 and Skyrim are already on PS5, Starfield‘s arrival would simply continue Bethesda’s commitment to the PlayStation platform.
Fit the 9 games into the grid.
