StarRupture Leveling Guide: Skill Caps, LEM Augments & True Max Level

In StarRupture, players can improve their skills – a bit like leveling up – to unlock better LEM Augments. You’ll need to become proficient in Combat, Survival, and Movement to do this. However, there’s a level cap, and the game doesn’t tell you when you’ve reached it, which can be frustrating.

This guide will clearly explain how leveling works in StarRupture, including the number of skills available and what you can unlock in the current version. Most importantly, we’ll reveal the actual level cap for the game.

How Leveling Works in StarRupture

In StarRupture, all characters level up identically, so your choice between classes like Soldier or Biologist doesn’t affect progression. Instead, focus on improving your skills in Combat, Survival, and Movement. As you gain experience in these areas, you’ll unlock new LEM Augment Slots every few levels.

  • Combat experience is gained by eliminating Vermin and surviving large-scale raids on the base.
  • Survival experience is gained by collecting plants, mining meteorites or Ignitium, and surviving Rupture Waves.
  • Movement experience is gained by moving around, exploring, running, climbing, sliding, and jumping.

After reaching level 10, players can add a LEM Augment to their gear. To do this, they need to visit a LEM Station, which becomes available once they’ve reached Faction Level 4 with Future Health Solutions.

You can unlock more slots for enhancing your gear at levels 10, 25 (20 for combat skills), 40 (35 for combat), 65, 85, and 100. While skills can be leveled up to 100, there’s a hidden level cap you’ll need to discover by unlocking a crafting station.

What is the True Level Cap in StarRupture? (Early Access)

Currently, skills in the game only reach level 45, even though they’re designed to potentially go up to 100. This means the highest skill level you can achieve is 45, and you won’t be able to unlock all the available upgrades for LEM Augments.

As of right now, each skill only has 3 slots for LEM Augments. The game is still being developed, and the final version will eventually allow for 6 slots per skill.

You’ll see a small notification about this while at the LEM Station, but it’s easy to miss. Some players have earned enough experience to reach level 46, but they won’t actually level up – currently, level 45 is the maximum level in the game.

To get the most out of their characters, players will need to be patient and wait for future updates to add more content. As StarRupture is currently in Early Access, some features are still being developed. However, there’s already plenty to do – a large map to explore, lots of buildings to create – so players can enjoy the game as it continues to evolve before the official release.
