Arcadia-7, the planet featured in StarRupture, is full of secrets waiting to be discovered. Players will encounter things like recordings left by previous explorers, dangerous alien life, and massive monolith structures scattered across the landscape. These monoliths have been a particular puzzle for players – they clearly play a role in the story, but it’s not always obvious how they affect the game. This guide will explain everything you need to know about the monoliths in StarRupture and help you understand how to overcome the challenges they present.
Since StarRupture is still in early access, the details in this guide might change. However, it’s accurate as of today, based on the game’s information shortly after its early access launch.
Where to Find Monoliths in StarRupture?
Throughout the world of StarRupture, you’ll find several monoliths. The simplest one to locate is a short distance northwest of where you begin the game, nestled within a small crater. It’s located just southeast of ‘Purple Haze,’ a Selenian Mining Base on the western side of the map – that’s where you can also find the blueprint for the Rotor.
So, when I’m exploring, if I spot one of those monoliths, it shows up on my map as a rectangle with a weird symbol inside – you can see what I mean in the screenshot. It’s pretty easy to spot once you know what you’re looking for!
What Do Monoliths Do in StarRupture?
Currently in StarRupture, monoliths serve one main purpose: they generate waves of enemies that will attack your base after you’ve initially upgraded the base core.
Okay, so I’ve learned the hard way that as you improve your base core, it attracts way more enemies to the monolith. Basically, you need to seriously boost your defenses alongside those core upgrades and as you build up your resource gathering. If you don’t, things get overwhelming fast!
Getting near a monolith will expose you to radiation. Plus, I haven’t found any way to actually do anything with them in the game, so it’s probably not worth spending a lot of time investigating them right now.
Since StarRupture is still in early access, the developers at Creepy Jar plan to add more story and missions in the full 1.0 release. This means monoliths could become more significant and offer more features later on. We’ll be sure to update this article and let you know as soon as we have any new information.
