Starsand Island makes it easy for players to learn and begin farming, offering everything needed to create and enjoy a thriving garden. This guide will show you how to get started with the Farming profession, including helpful gardening advice and the tools you’ll need to grow your own crops in Starsand Island.
How to Unlock the Farming Profession in Starsand Island
To start your journey to becoming an Expert Farmer, you need to begin the main questline for the Farming profession. First, read a letter from Graminova in your Mailbox, then find and go to their shop, the Happiness Seed Shop.
You can find him in the garden out back. After talking to Graminova, he’ll give you quests that teach you everything you need to know about Farming. Completing these quests is like getting certified – you’ll earn a rank and unlock new items, crafting recipes, and other helpful things at the store.
You can also unlock special benefits in the Workpedia app using Starsand, but you’ll need a Farming certification to access certain perks.
How to Grow Crops in Starsand Island
Now that you’ve learned gardening from Graminova’s Farming profession, it’s time to put your skills to use! Growing crops on Starsand Island is straightforward – you just need land, seeds, tools, and either time or fertilizer to get started.
You can make a Stone Hoe at the Workbench and put it in your hotbar. Then, select the Stone Hoe and click on any empty dirt patch to prepare it for planting seeds.
Always read the description on each seed packet. It tells you everything you need to know, like how to plant the seeds, how long they take to grow, how many vegetables you’ll get, and when to plant them.
You can grow crops like garlic by planting their seeds in a Planting Box. You can build a Planting Box at the Workbench after you’ve learned the recipe. After planting, remember to water your crops with a Watering Can. If your can runs out of water, refill it at a water source or Hand Pump on your land, then simply interact with it.
As a gardening enthusiast, I’ve found that if you want to speed things up with your plants, fertilizer is a lifesaver – it really helps them grow faster and get ready to harvest sooner. And of course, weeds always seem to pop up! The key is to deal with them as soon as you spot them, before they cause any trouble.
Once your crops are grown, you can harvest them for many uses! You can eat them to regain health, use them in cooking, or turn them into things like fertilizer. You can also sell your harvest to Aurelis at Aureleaf Kitchen, or donate it to the Community Center to complete requests.
How to Level Up Farming in Starsand Island
Want to become a skilled farmer quickly? The fastest route is to earn all the farming certifications. You do this by following the Farming profession questline with Graminova and completing all the tasks needed to achieve the Apprentice, Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and Expert Farmer levels.
This gives you access to a wider variety of seeds, plans, and fertilizers, letting you grow new crops and earn more Coins when you sell your harvest. You’ll also be able to buy new recipes, so you can cook even more delicious meals.
