Dragon Fruit, also called Pitaya, is a rarer item found on Starsand Island. You won’t need it when you first start playing or for basic crafting. However, it’s necessary to complete some optional quests, like requests for the Community Center.
Dragon Fruit can be tricky to find in Starsand Island because, unlike berries, it doesn’t grow on specific trees or plants. This makes it harder for players to know where to look. Luckily, there are a few reliable spots where Dragon Fruit often appears.

Where to Find Dragon Fruit in Starsand Island
- North of the G-Power Bike store
- North of the Half-Moon Bay area
You can find Dragon Fruit on Starsand Island, especially north of the G-Power Bike store. Look for them under the trees in that area. They don’t grow on any particular tree, so you’ll need to search the ground for them – their location is random.
It’s also worth looking for Dragon Fruit in the green zone north of Half-Moon Bay. They sometimes appear near the beach, but they don’t always drop.
Best Way to Get Dragon Fruits Fast
Image via Seed Sparkle Lab The best way to gather Dragon Fruits is by opening treasure chests near Half-Moon Bay. These chests frequently contain multiple Dragon Fruits, allowing players to quickly collect a large amount.
A couple of treasure chests can be found near the railway south of the beach.
What to Do with Dragon Fruit
Image via Seed Sparkle Lab Currently, you can’t cook with Dragon Fruit on Starsand Island. However, you might need it to complete some missions, so it’s a good idea to save any you find in a storage box just in case you get a quest or request that requires them.
Avoid selling Dragon Fruit, as it is a fairly uncommon item.
Early in the game, the Community Center board will ask you to deliver two Pitayas to someone on the island. This is an optional task, but completing it will give you Starsand Island coins, increase your relationship with someone, and provide items to improve your skills.
In Starsand Island, you have a lot of freedom when decorating your home – you can use practically any item you find as a decoration! For example, you could display extra Dragon Fruits on shelves or in bowls to add a personal touch.

Can You Buy Dragon Fruits?
Image via Seed Sparkle Lab Dragon Fruits aren’t available for purchase on Starsand Island right now, not even at the Happiness Seed Shop near the General Store. But, a future update might bring Dragon Fruit seeds or plants to Graminova’s shop.
Can You Plant Dragon Fruits?
As a big fan of Starsand Island, I’ve been trying to get my hands on some Dragon Fruit seeds to start a farm, but it looks like it’s just not possible! None of the vendors on the island sell them, and the game even says the best way to get Dragon Fruit is by gathering it, not growing it. So, for now, farming them isn’t an option, at least not in this version of the game.
