The futuristic card game titled StarVaders has revealed its launch trailer, giving players a sneak peek into its gameplay before it hits the shelves. The short video showcases many key aspects of the game and emphasizes that playing StarVaders will be an outrageously fun and eccentric journey.
Since the end of 2021, the indie studio Pengonauts has been developing a mech-themed card game called StarVaders. The game’s Steam page became available at the end of 2022 and garnered over 55,000 wishlists. On March 31st, 2025, they announced that the game will be officially released on April 30th.
In keeping with tradition for new launches, StarVaders unveiled a launch trailer before its official release. The one-minute video is designed to highlight the game’s deckbuilding mechanics at a brisk pace, swiftly transitioning between gameplay elements and character previews. It also offers an initial glimpse into the game’s storyline, where the main character is given the duty of piloting a mech and fending off an unwelcome alien invasion.
StarVaders Is As Flashy As Deckbuilders Get
Instead of typical games featuring mechs, StarVaders stands out as a deckbuilding game. Unlike the majority of other deckbuilders, it provides an exceptionally lively experience, where every successful attack is vividly demonstrated by a burst of color and sound. The content in StarVaders promises 10 pilots with individual playstyles and a set of three mechs that each offer unique gaming dynamics.
StarVaders boasts an impressive lineup: it will feature 268 cards, 50 distinct enemy types called Invaders, and no less than 9 formidable bosses. To add another layer of complexity, there are 153 Artifacts that can alter the game’s mechanics. The game will include a captivating story campaign, as well as multiple difficulty levels and game modes. If you appreciate fast-paced deckbuilding games and relish a good challenge, then Pengonauts’ inaugural release should definitely appeal to you.
StarVaders Is Getting a 10% Launch Discount
The upcoming game “StarVaders” on April 30 will only be accessible via Steam. At this point, it’s not clear if it will appear on any other platform or digital store. On Steam, you’ll find two publishers credited: Joystick Ventures and Playworks. Whether or not the game will release on multiple platforms might depend on its performance on Valve’s storefront. In principle, “StarVaders” could work well on a touchscreen device, but it would probably require a different approach to monetization if it were to succeed on mobile. To put it simply, the PC version of “StarVaders” will cost $24.99, which is significantly more than what most mobile gamers are willing to pay for a single premium title. Additionally, during its first two weeks after release, “StarVaders” will be available at a 10% discount, lowering the price to $22.49.
