To run clever little plugins like RadiYo and more, you must install the Decky Loader app. This guide will show you how to install the Decky Loader and use Internet stations on the Steam Deck.
Activate Developer Mode On The Steam Deck
As a Steam Deck gamer, before diving into using Decky Loader, let’s first make sure we’ve activated the Developer Mode features. This mode comes with some pretty handy tools that Decky Loader and other apps offer for our gaming experience. Here’s how to enable Developer Mode and ensure smooth operation of Decky Loader:
- Press the Steam button.
- Select System.
- Scroll down to System Settings.
- Then toggle on Enable Developer Mode.
- Scroll down the left access panel to access the Developer menu.
- Under Miscellaneous, switch on CEF Remote Debugging.
- Press the Steam button to access the Power options.
- Select Restart.
After each significant Steam Deck update, make sure to review your Developer Mode settings. Updates, especially during beta testing, might accidentally turn off Developer Mode and CEF Remote Debugging. If the Decky Loader app vanishes from your Quick Access Menu due to this, don’t be alarmed! Simply reactivate Developer Mode to have your plugins restored.
Install Decky Loader On The Steam Deck

In case you don’t have an external keyboard and mouse, you can use the device’s internal keyboard by simultaneously pressing the Steam and X keys.
- Open a browser of your choice.

- Locate the large Download icon down the Decky Loader GitHub page.
- After downloading, double-click the installer and select the recommended install.
- Wait for Decky Loader to finish installing and switch back to Gaming Mode.
Installing Internet Radio on the Steam Deck
After setting up Decky Loader, you’re now capable of adding gratis homebrew applications such as the RadiYo! app. Here are the instructions for discovering and installing Steamback:
- Press the QAM button – button with the three dots underneath the right trackpad.
- Click the new plugin icon available at the bottom of the menu.
- In the Decky Loader Look for the plugin, RadiYo! on the list, or type it into the search bar.
- Select Install to use the new app.

Click the QAM button and activate the RadiYo plugin. Choose from a variety of popular radio stations in the list, finding one that suits your preferences.
- Use the search bar and type in your favorite music genre.
- Select one of the stations and add to your favorites by clicking on the star icon.
- If you have the URL of your favorite stations you can add them via the Add Station by URL tab and favorite it.
- The new radio stations will be added to the Favorites dropdown.
