Players are loving a charming new game on Steam called Little Sim World. It’s a life simulator set in a scaled-down London, blending the gameplay of Stardew Valley and The Sims. Even though it’s still in development (early access), the game has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, with over 90% of players reporting satisfaction.
Although popular games in 2025 tend to be fast-paced shooters, fantasy adventures, and action games, many players still enjoy games that simulate everyday life. Stardew Valley, released in 2016, really popularized this type of game, and now there are lots of other options that let you experience a more relaxed and ordinary virtual life, without constant danger or heroic quests.
Little Life Sim Combines Stardew Valley and The Sims’ Best Traits
While not a blockbuster hit, the game Little Sim World has been receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews lately. Since its release in early access on May 1st, it’s maintained an 80% positive rating, but reviews from the past month have pushed that up to an impressive 94%. Many players describe it as a more laid-back alternative to Stardew Valley. What sets Little Sim World apart is its focus on managing characters’ basic needs – like hunger, thirst, and hygiene – similar to The Sims 4. Players need to keep their customizable characters comfortable and happy, and also ensure they have enough energy and health to get through each day.

Little Sim World is a charming 2D game set in the colorful city of Little London. Players can explore shops, participate in activities, and design their dream homes. While best enjoyed with friends, the game also features a lively population of NPCs, each with their own unique stories and goals. Like many life simulation games, you can even build romantic relationships with the residents of Little London by getting to know them and discovering what they like.

Similar to The Sims, Little Sim World lets players improve skills like fitness, strength, crafting, art, recycling, cooking, knowledge, fishing, and writing. You can level up these skills by doing various activities around town, and unlocking even more options as your reputation in the city grows. The developers plan to expand on this system as the game continues to be updated during early access.
