Steam Store Pages Just Got a Facelift

Steam updated its store pages on November 7th to display wider images for desktop users. The update also introduced a theater mode for game videos and screenshots, and gave developers new ways to highlight key features in their game descriptions.

Since launching in 2003, Steam has become the leading online store for PC games worldwide. While already successful at selling and managing games, Steam regularly releases updates based on what users want. These updates often improve the user experience or reorganize features. For example, a test version of Steam released in early August 2025 let users customize game titles and upload their own cover art, and this feature was later added to the main Steam program.

Steam Storefront Pages Now Support Wider Image Previews And More

Valve recently updated how game pages look on Steam, following a redesign of the main Steam page earlier this year. The biggest change is wider image previews – they’ve increased from 940 to 1200 pixels wide, letting both Valve and game developers showcase higher-quality screenshots and trailers. A new “theater mode” was also added in the latest Steam update, letting users watch trailers and view images in a larger, but not full-screen, format. New buttons allow you to easily switch between theater mode, full-screen view, and browse through images and trailers. Steam also tweaked the background images on game pages to make colors more vibrant.

Steam’s November update gave game developers more ways to highlight their game’s key features on its Steam store page. This includes the ability to use better images and more formatting options. Steam also updated the look of pages for game categories—like Supernatural and Horror—to match the new storefront design, creating a more consistent experience for users.

Steam announced that they’re planning further updates to the homepage and will share details soon. With recent improvements to both the desktop app and Steam Deck, Valve is giving its users some helpful new features.
