Steam is currently testing a new feature called Personal Calendar designed to help players easily discover games they might enjoy. This feature is available for users to try out today.
Gamers have tons of choices with so many new games released each year, and many of them are great. But with so much available, it can be hard to find the games you’ll actually enjoy. A new tool from Steam aims to make that process easier.
Steam Labs Introduces Personal Calendar For Game Recommendations
Steam has introduced a new feature called Personal Calendar, currently available as part of Steam Labs. This calendar is unique because it only displays game releases Steam believes you’ll enjoy. Instead of showing every game available, it focuses on recommendations based on the games you play the most, and it updates daily to keep those suggestions relevant. The calendar highlights both upcoming and recently released games, so you won’t miss out on titles you might like.
I’ve been checking out the Steam Personal Calendar, and it’s pretty cool, though Steam does say it’s still a work in progress as part of Steam Labs. One thing I noticed is it only shows game releases on weekdays. Apparently, not many games come out on the weekends, so they figured it saved space. What I really like is that it also shows games I’ve added to my wishlist, even if they aren’t the type of games I usually play – that way I don’t forget about them! It also separates new releases differently than games that are already out. Upcoming games are on a regular calendar, but released games are split into two sections: one for the last month, and another for just the last week. Plus, you can tweak how it looks and what it shows using the customization options, which is great!
This is currently a test feature from Steam, and they want to hear what users think. If you have any feedback, please share your thoughts on the discussion page for the Steam Labs Personal Calendar experiment.
