Steam is giving away even more free games! With the holidays here, PC gamers have been enjoying a lot of freebies lately, and it looks like that trend will continue with two new games now available.
As a PC gamer, December has been amazing so far – so many free games on Steam! And I’m expecting even more as Christmas gets closer. The only thing you have to remember is these freebies don’t last forever. If you don’t grab a game while it’s offered, you miss out. But the good news is, once you add it to your library, it’s yours to keep forever, which is awesome!
As of today, Steam is offering two games for free. You can get Toy Tinker Simulator at no cost until December 21st at noon Central Time. Rat Quest is free until December 25th at the same time. There’s a good chance even more free games will become available on Steam before then, so PC gamers should check back often to expand their game collections without spending any money.
Steam Free Games Right Now
- Toy Tinker Simulator (until December 21)
- Rat Quest (until December 25)
If you haven’t heard of it, Toy Tinker Simulator is a game where you fix broken toys. It’s a fun theme, especially with the holidays coming up! While it has gotten some mixed reviews on Steam, it’s free right now, so if it sounds interesting, be sure to download it before the offer ends.
Another free game on Steam, Rat Quest, has been well-received by players and offers a very different kind of gameplay. It’s a challenging 2D platformer where even a single mistake sends you back to the beginning. This game isn’t for those who prefer easy experiences, but if you enjoy a tough challenge, be sure to download Rat Quest while it’s still available.

PC gamers who use the Epic Games Store, instead of just Steam, have even more free games to enjoy. The Epic Games Store is bringing back its daily free mystery game promotion for 2025, offering a new game to claim each day. They kicked things off with a major title, Hogwarts Legacy, which is one of the biggest free games they’ve ever offered. On December 18th, they gave away Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, and players will need to check back daily to see what other free games are available.
The free game being offered on the Epic Games Store on December 18th is Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, which proves a recent online leak was incorrect. The leak claimed several free games, including Red Dead Redemption 2, and incorrectly predicted Jurassic World Evolution 2 would be the December 18th offering. PC gamers can therefore ignore the leaked list.
