Monster Hunter Wilds Has The Highest Steam Peak Of Any New 2025 Game
Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds became the most popular game on Steam in 2025. It reached a record high of over 1.3 million players at the same time, according to SteamDB.
To put this into context, this is the fifth-highest peak in Steam history!
Okay, so here’s something crazy. You’d think a huge release like Battlefield 6 would totally dominate, but it actually only hit about half the player numbers of Wilds! Seriously, Battlefield 6 is amazing – a lot of us think it’s the best shooter of 2025, hands down. Though, I’m sure the ARC Raiders fans aren’t too happy to hear me say that!
Battlefield 6 reached a peak of 747,440 players on Steam. Other popular games released in 2025 also attracted large audiences: Hollow Knight: Silksong peaked at 587,150 players, ARC Raiders drew 481,966 simultaneous players, and the indie game Schedule 1 managed an impressive 459,075 players.
No other game even approached 1 million sales, but Monster Hunter Wilds easily surpassed that mark. It remains the top-selling game of 2025, which certainly contributes to its success.
