As a lifelong World of Warcraft fanatic who has spent countless hours battling through Azeroth and beyond, I can hardly contain my excitement about SteelSeries’ latest collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment. The limited-edition collection, dubbed “World of Warcraft: The War Within,” is an absolute must-have for any dedicated WoW player looking to upgrade their gaming gear while paying homage to the game that has consumed our lives (and bank accounts) for the past 20 years.

As a dedicated World of Warcraft enthusiast, I’m thrilled about SteelSeries unveiling a restricted-edition assortment of gaming equipment titled “World of Warcraft: The War Within“! Although they’re not for sale just yet, we fans can look forward to acquiring a headset, customized speaker plates and headbands, unique keycaps, and a mousepad all adorned with the latest World of Warcraft expansion motifs. Plus, these purchases will come with exclusive in-game rewards!

The War Within, the tenth expansion for World of Warcraft, is almost upon us! While the official launch date is set for August 26, those who have pre-purchased the Epic Edition of World of Warcraft: The War Within can start playing early. The early access begins at 3 PM PDT on August 22.”

To mark its growth and upcoming 20th anniversary, World of Warcraft has joined forces with SteelSeries to launch a fresh line of gaming accessories. The collection comprises six items: an Arctis Nova 7 headset, the Aerox 9 mouse, decorative speaker plates and headbands adorned with Alliance and Horde symbols, a custom keycap showcasing Sargeras’ sword from World of Warcraft, and a mousepad modeled after the cinematic trailer for The War Within. Excitingly, each item comes bundled with one of three in-game digital bonuses for fans who buy them: the Grinning Reaver, Lil’ Flameo, and the Savage Ebony Battle Turtle.

World of Warcraft: The War Within SteelSeries Peripherals

The Grinning Reaver was a Warlords of Draenor-era cash shop mount that was removed in 2019, but it can now be obtained by buying the Arctis Nova 7 headset. Lil’ Flameo, a recolor of the Lil’ Maggz Pit Lord battle pet previously on sale in the cash shop, will be gifted to players who purchase the Aerox 9 mouse. The Savage Ebony Battle Turtle is a recolor of the blue and red versions previously available via the Trading Post in World of Warcraft, and is acquired by purchasing any of the other four peripherals.

The merchandise from this special collection based on World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary hasn’t been put up for sale just yet, but you can register on the official SteelSeries website to receive a notification when it becomes available. While we expect the release date to be no later than November, there’s a chance they may come out earlier. Keep in mind that these items are limited-edition, so fans who want them should act quickly once they’re launched.

It’s uncertain whether the digital goods showcased during this promotion will be obtainable through different channels once the SteelSeries collection runs out. Potentially, they could appear in upcoming Trading Post catalogs, Twitch Drops for World of Warcraft, or other promotions if they become available again. Given that there’s no assurance they’ll reappear, players who are interested in these items may want to consider purchasing the related peripherals as a precaution.
