Shift Up, the team behind Stellar Blade, has partnered with Level Infinite, a publishing brand of Tencent, to release their next game, currently known as Project Spirits.
Recently, Stellar Blade has received a lot of attention, becoming the best-selling new game ever released exclusively for PlayStation on PC. Plans are also in motion to make the next Stellar Blade game available on multiple platforms. Now, we’re learning more about Shift Up’s other upcoming game, Project Spirits, which will also be released on several platforms.
Shift Up and Level Infinite Sign New Partnership to Publish Project Spirits
Level Infinite and Shift Up have announced a second collaboration, building on their previous work together on the game Goddess of Victory: Nikke. This new deal means Level Infinite will not only publish Shift Up’s games, but also help develop them. Level Infinite is known for publishing popular titles like PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings, and has also partnered on games such as Dune: Awakening and Warhammer 40K: Darktide.
Shift Up’s next game, Project Spirits, is planned for release on PC, consoles, and mobile devices. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game is a collaboration between the developers of Stellar Blade and Yongxing Interactive, a Tencent-backed studio made up of experienced creators from popular anime and gaming companies.
Tencent has responded to Sony’s lawsuit claiming their game is too similar to Horizon, arguing that simply being well-known doesn’t automatically grant trademark protection. Sony is trying to legally prevent Tencent from creating anything resembling the character Aloy.
