Stellar Blade Shocks Fans With 3 New Endings That Feel Like Stellar Blade 2 Setup

The action-adventure game Stellar Blade, originally released on PS5 in April 2024, gained even more popularity when it came to PC this summer. This RPG combines fast-paced combat with challenging, Souls-like gameplay, all set in a world after a global disaster. After launching on Steam, it quickly received an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating from players. Even though the game is over a year old, the developers at ShiftUp and PlayStation have continued to add new content, including crossover DLC featuring Goddess of Victory: Nikke. Now, the game’s newest big update seems to be hinting at a possible Stellar Blade sequel.

Earlier this year, a document leaked from ShiftUp hinted that a sequel to Stellar Blade might be happening. The information suggested the game could come to more platforms, possibly the Switch 2, and that a sequel was being planned. This month, ShiftUp officially confirmed that a sequel is currently in development. Now, with the newest Stellar Blade update, the developers have started building the foundation for that sequel by adding 3 new epilogues that continue the story. While the epilogues don’t offer a huge amount of new content, fans are still excited to see the game being updated… although there are a few things to keep in mind.

New Stellar Blade Epilogues Could Set Up a Sequel, But Fans Are Demanding Easier Access

So, the new patch for Stellar Blade dropped on September 29th for both PC and PS5. It fixed a few bugs and tweaked Photo Mode, but the coolest part was definitely the addition of 3 new epilogues – they appear after getting a specific ending in the game. As a player, I’m super excited to see more story content for Stellar Blade, but honestly, I wish the patch notes were a little clearer about everything. It feels a bit vague right now.

Ever since the latest patch notes came out, players have been discussing which ending unlocks the new epilogue. Some have pointed out that not all endings seem to activate the new story content. With the game already having 3 different endings, getting all possible outcomes took multiple playthroughs. This new update has led fans to request a Chapter Select feature, allowing them to quickly access the new story without having to play through Stellar Blade again.

I’ve been checking out what’s happening with the new epilogues, and while not everyone’s unlocked them yet, people who have say the extra story doesn’t really add too much – it’s mostly just some new moments between the characters. Still, adding those little teasers at the end feels like a pretty obvious way to set up the Stellar Blade sequel they just confirmed! It sounds like the epilogues might even give us a clue about who we’ll be playing as next time around. A lot of people are watching playthroughs on YouTube to see what’s new, but honestly, I’m so excited to have another reason to jump back into Stellar Blade while we wait for the sequel to come out!

We don’t have an official release date for Stellar Blade 2 yet, but it’s expected to come out before 2027. This means fans shouldn’t have to wait too long, and it seems ShiftUp has plenty of content planned to keep us entertained until then.
