Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has announced that the game has surpassed three million units sold, with sales coming from its PlayStation 5 and PC editions.
As a gamer, I can proudly say that the release of the PC version of our action title has been nothing short of amazing! Within the first three days, our team was thrilled to announce we’d sold an impressive million copies.
Following its successful debut on PS5 last year, Sony took on the role of publisher for the PC version as well, which swiftly turned out to be their biggest single-player launch on that platform. According to SteamDB, the game boasts a robust player base on PC, and the port surprisingly broke a new record overnight with 192,000 concurrent players logged in simultaneously.
Among all PC ports Sony has released so far, Helldivers 2 stands out as the most played, boasting a peak of 458,709 active players simultaneously. In terms of single-player PC games from Sony, the experience provided by Shift Up surpasses them all significantly. Ghost of Tsushima comes closest, but even it falls short with only about half the number of active players at its peak, which is 77,000 for Stellar Blade.
Nevertheless, Shift Up continues to operate independently. Although they collaborate closely with Sony on Stellar Blade, they are not a member of PlayStation Studios. Instead, Sony functions as the game’s publisher on PC platforms.
