Stilled Lake Hylia Walkthrough in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

As a seasoned adventurer with countless hours spent traversing the sprawling landscapes of Hyrule, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when I remember my first encounter with Lake Hylia in Echoes of Wisdom. This serene body of water, though seemingly insignificant in the grand scheme of things, played a pivotal role in my journey to save the kingdom.

In the game called “Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom”, Lake Hylia can be found and although there are no crucial plot tasks here, you may come across it during your exploration of Hyrule or your search for Jabul Waters. If you wish to wear more than one Accessory, you should travel to Lake Hylia to unlock this ability. Additionally, you’ll see a big rift on the nearby island. The Stilled Lake Hylia is an optional rift within “Echoes of Wisdom”, which means it doesn’t involve main or story quests. However, if your goal is to maximize Tri’s level, you will need to eliminate this rift.

How to Unlock Lake Hylia

Once you’ve wrapped up the adventure in the Stilled Suthorn Forest rift, you’ll encounter Impa’s elder brother, Lueberry, initiating the next main quest titled “Searching for All.” Your task will involve repairing the colossal rifts in Jabul Waters and the Gerudo Desert. You are given the freedom to decide which one to tackle first. Heading north from Lueberry’s residence, you’ll come across some pillars where you can pick up the “Up a Wall” side quest, new Echoes to study, and even find the Crawltula Echo lurking on the black and red spiders crawling along those same pillars. If you turn east from the pillars, you’ll spot a wall with trees. Beyond the cliff edge lies Lake Hylia. To access Lake Hylia, follow these steps:

  1. Face the rightmost wall and summon the Crawltula Echo.
  2. Use Tri’s Bind ability (X-button) on the Crawltula, then quickly target it with ZR-button, and then hold down R-button.
  3. If done properly, the Crawtula will scale the wall and carry Zelda with it.

If you’ve progressed a bit in your gameplay, you might encounter obstacles that can be overcome using Echoes, like the one called Platboom. But if your next destination is Lake Hylia right after passing through the Suthorn Forest rift, then it would be more beneficial to use the Crawltula as your Echo.

Make your way towards the island featuring the enormous chasm and find the golden circle there to trigger the opening of Tri. If you’d like to save the chasm for later, feel free to visit the nearby island with the Great Fairy and activate a Waypoint statue. Alternatively, dive into Lake Hylia, Peacefully Still.

Where to Find Tri’s Friends

Three friends of Tri’s are currently hanging out at Stilled Lake Hylia, a smaller region compared to the rifts with five captives. However, this lake is unique as it has suspended bodies of water floating around. Since there may be fights in the water here, it would be beneficial to have characters that can battle in water. For instance, you might want to acquire the Tangler Echo, a character found in Lake Hylia. You can swim by pressing A and resurface with B.

Tri’s Friend #1

On the third island situated away from the starting point, you’ll find some of Tri’s friends confined within a water-filled block. Creatures known as Tangler monsters infest this area, so it’s crucial to eliminate them with Echoes that can endure underwater conditions. Alternatively, you could utilize the Bind ability to extract them from the water and drop them into the abyss. Once this region is safe, dive in to save the first group of friends.

Tri’s Friend #2

Moving forward, you’ll encounter the next group, situated to the east of Long Island, following your initial gathering of companions. Utilize landmarks such as Crawltula or Platboom to guide you across the subsequent island chain. Unfortunately, the final island is out of reach, so you’ll need to employ Platboom to lift Zelda and jump into the water. As an alternative, construct a bridge using four makeshift beds. The second cluster of Tri’s allies is concealed behind a submerged boulder.

Tri’s Friend #3

Head back to “Long Island” and direct your path towards the northwest region. You’ll come across another section that you can leap into, which will take you to a bigger “pond” filled with stones that can be shifted using Tri’s Bind. Reach the northwest corner wall, lined with trees, and dive in to uncover a hidden tunnel. This will lead you to a private part of the island where Tri’s companions reside. Shift the boulder to reunite with them and retrieve your lost items.

How Much Experience Does Tri Get?

Clearing the rift will provide Tri with a little bit of experience, but it won’t be enough to reach his maximum level. Additionally, you’ll receive two Might Crystals that can be used for upgrading Swordfighter at Lueberry’s house. The Stilled Lake Hylia is an optional area and not essential for completing the story. However, if your aim is to raise Tri’s level to its maximum, you’ll need to clear the rift.
