Summary
- Expect a potential fall release for Stranger Things season 5, possibly in October or November 2025.
- Fans speculate if the final season will be released as a whole or in two parts for a memorable viewing experience.
- Netflix has a big lineup for 2025 with popular shows like You, Squid Game, and The Sandman wrapping up.
2025 has seen me immersed in captivating medical drama The Pitt on Max, as well as Paradise on Hulu, featuring Sterling K. Brown. Yet, my anticipation lies with the upcoming seasons of Netflix’s shows – Wednesday and Stranger Things. Both series boast intriguing and lasting atmospheres, compelling character development, and a multitude of mysteries.
The Duffer Brothers have officially announced a release date for “Stranger Things” in 2025, however, the exact release date remains unspecified at this point. Since it’s been confirmed that season 2 of “Wednesday” is due out in the summer of 2025 with part one premiering on August 6th and part two on September 3rd, I can’t help but wonder when we might expect “Stranger Things” season 5 to hit our screens.
Could Stranger Things Season 5 Be Released In November 2025?

Given that the second season of Stranger Things is set for release in August and September 2025, it’s reasonable to speculate that season 5 could drop in the autumn of 2025. It’s possible that the final season might premiere in October or November 2025. However, I don’t believe December would be the release month, as it’s traditionally filled with Christmas-themed movies. But it’s not entirely out of the question either. Initially, I had assumed fans would witness Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Vecna (Jamie Campbell Brown)’s final showdown in the summer, but it seems Netflix might be planning to roll out the Wednesday releases instead.
and Stranger Things. Fans need time to watch each season and properly enjoy the new episodes.
Absolutely, there’s a chance Netflix might excite fans by revealing that the final season of “Stranger Things” will release in either June or July. A trailer or even a sneak peek would make it even more exciting. However, given the extensive editing and production work required for each season, an early release in June or July could be rushed. Therefore, an October or November premiere appears to be a more realistic scenario.
There’s another query that arises: Will the fifth season of “Stranger Things” be divided into one or two parts? I personally believe it would be more enjoyable to stream all episodes together since it creates a fun binge-watching experience. Nevertheless, I ponder if the final episode might be released a week or so after the others to make it feel like a grand and exhilarating event. It’s also exciting that the series finale is expected to be lengthy, which seems appropriate considering all that needs to unfold, and fans should have a proper farewell. As Finn Wolfhard stated, the final season will be substantial, and according to Vanity Fair, Matt Duffer mentioned on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
“I would expect the finale to be at least two hours.”
When were Stranger Things seasons 1-4 released?
- Season 1: July 15th, 2016
- Season 2: October 27th, 2017
- Season 3: July 4th, 2019
- Season 4, Part 1: May 27th, 2022
- Season 4, Part 2: July 1st, 2022
Though fans are yet to learn about the release date for season 5 of “Stranger Things”, they can instead delve into the Netflix documentary titled “Behind The Curtain: Stranger Things: The First Shadow”. This captivating tale recounts the original London, England production of the play set in 2023. Interestingly, Kate Trefry – who co-wrote the play and is a writer and story editor for seasons 2 through 5 of “Stranger Things” – revealed to PEOPLE that there is indeed a connection between this play and the upcoming final season of the popular series.
I can hardly wait for the release of season 5 as it will reveal the entire story, which is heavily centered around Henry Creel. In many ways, the play and season 5 complement each other, forming a single narrative thread. I’m eager for everyone to witness the complete picture at last.
Netflix Has Several Big Releases Coming In 2025

Apart from the second season of “Wednesday” and the fifth season of “Stranger Things,” a number of other highly anticipated shows will make their return to Netflix in 2025 as well.
2025 is shaping up to be a significant year for concluding some highly popular TV shows. For instance, “You” season 5 premieres on April 24th, 2025, marking its final chapter. Based on the trailer, Joe Goldberg’s (Penn Badgley) story promises an intriguingly resolved ending. A few months back, a sneak peek for “Squid Game” season 3 was released, hinting at a possible summer or fall 2025 debut for its final season. Lastly, the second and concluding season of “The Sandman” is scheduled to release in July 2025.
