Netflix is building even more excitement for the final season of Stranger Things by releasing it in three parts. The breaks between episodes give fans time to create theories about how the story will end and what will happen to their favorite characters. Recently, Ross Duffer shared details on Instagram, revealing the official titles and runtimes for each episode in Volumes 2 and 3 of Season 5. There are only 5 hours and 37 minutes of Stranger Things remaining.

Episode Title Runtime Air Date
Shock Jock 1 hour 8 minutes December 25 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT
Escape from Camazotz 1 hour 15 minutes December 25 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT
The Bridge 1 hour 6 minutes December 25 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT
The Rightside Up 2 hours 8 minutes December 31 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT

The final three episodes of Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 2 deliver exactly what fans anticipate from the Netflix series. ‘Shock Jock,’ ‘Escape from Camazotz,’ and ‘The Bridge’ each run just over an hour – a bit longer than typical episodes from the show’s first three seasons (45–60 minutes), but comparable in length to most episodes from Season 4, which varied from 1 hour 5 minutes to 2 hours 22 minutes. These episodes are also similar in length to the four released in Season 5 Volume 1, ranging from 57 minutes to 1 hour 26 minutes.

The final episode of Stranger Things, now called ‘The Rightside Up,’ is about twice as long as the previous three. However, it’s not the longest episode ever made. That distinction belongs to ‘The Piggyback,’ the ninth chapter of Season 4, which runs for 2 hours and 22 minutes.

Although official summaries of the final episodes aren’t available yet, the directors for Stranger Things Season 5, Volumes 2 and 3, have been announced. Frank Darabont, known for his work on The Walking Dead, directed ‘Shock Jock,’ having previously directed an episode in Volume 1. Shawn Levy, an executive producer on Stranger Things and the director of Deadpool & Wolverine, helmed ‘Escape from Camazotz.’ Finally, the Duffer brothers, who created the show back in 2016, directed the last two episodes of the season.
