I just watched a really cool interview IGN did with the Creative Director of Dawn of War 4, Jan Theysen. He explained how the game – which is already super popular on Steam with tons of wishlists – came together. It was fascinating to hear how their past work on games like Iron Harvest, and the previous Dawn of War titles, shaped the design choices they made this time around.

Strategos Enters Early Access

The year is off to a great start with the upcoming release of Strategos, a strategy game reminiscent of Total War. It focuses on detailed and immersive tactical battles in the ancient world. I’ve been impressed with what the sole developer has created, having tested it through demos and a full review copy. Peter Molyneux New Game Masters of Albion Out In 2026

Did you hear Peter Molyneux, the creator of classic games like Fable, Populous, and Black & White, is working on a new game? He’s also known for later projects like Curiosity and Godus, where he didn’t quite live up to the hype. His new game, Masters of Albion, is scheduled to release on April 22nd, 2026.

This new game appears to be another ‘God Game,’ where you oversee and influence a world. The trailer doesn’t blow me away, but it’s not bad either. What makes it interesting is the ability to directly control any creature in the game from a close-up view, and to build things piece by piece. There are also zombies to fight, and you can use divine powers to help turn the tide of battle. I’m cautiously optimistic about it.

Wargame Design Studio – Game of The Week Goes To The Eastern Front

If you enjoy strategy games, you’ll likely find yourself fascinated by the Eastern Front of World War II – it’s a common obsession for players, similar to how history enthusiasts often become fixated on the Roman Empire. Field of Glory: Kingdoms – Burghers and Bombards DLC

Field of Glory: Kingdom is getting a major upgrade with the new Burghers and Bombards DLC, building on its already strong foundation as a strategy game similar to Crusader Kings 3. The DLC focuses on the late medieval period – specifically the 13th and 14th centuries – when towns and trade became increasingly important, and gunpowder weapons started to change warfare. It will significantly improve the game’s late-game economy by adding a new merchant class (‘Burghers’), as well as things like building maintenance costs, inflation, and trade guilds. Players will also gain access to new military technologies, including early firearms like handgunners and bombards, cannon-equipped ships, and fortified castles with artillery.

The game’s Steam page announced some interesting new features for the Portuguese civilization, and that’s enough to make me want to play it again!
