This week has been quite eventful! We’re looking forward to a sneak peek of an upcoming Turn-Based Star Wars showcase, exciting news for Age of Empires enthusiasts, and a glimpse into the unique civilizations featured in Endless Legend 2.
Turn-Based Tactics Star Wars Game Teased

At the Star Wars Celebration 2025, Electronic Arts (EA) has shared that they’ll unveil a brand-new Star Wars game – though its official name remains unknown as of now. However, what we do know is that Bit Reactor, a studio with a talented team who previously worked at Firaxis Games and on XCOM projects, is behind it. Fingers crossed, this could be the long-awaited Star Wars-themed strategy game akin to XCOM! More details about the game will be shared on April 19th, 2025.
Age of Empires 2: Definitie Edition Releases The Biggest Update Ever
Age of Empires II remains an exceptional game, boasting significant updates even 25 years post its initial release. The most recent update is particularly substantial and covers almost every element of the game. Expect enhancements in terms of stability, performance, graphics, and user interface, to name a few. This isn’t all; there are 25 new castle designs, one for each civilization. Additionally, there are unique visuals for elite units, monks, and improved animation attacks that align with the actual unit attack. The update concludes with two new random maps, Glade and Fortified, as well as a map inspired by real-world landmarks, the Great Wall. If you’re an Age of Empires II enthusiast, be sure to check out the details on this update, here.
The Templars Come To Age of Empires IV In New Knights of Cross and Rose DLC
As a passionate Age of Empires fan, I’m feasting on excitement right now! The announcement of the substantial update for Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition has me salivating, and the upcoming DLC for Age of Empires IV titled Knights of Cross and Rose is just the cherry on top. This expansion introduces two new twists to civilizations – the Templars hailing from France, and the House of Lancaster representing England. These additions bring a wealth of fresh weapons and strategies to the table.
The DLC will also introduce some intriguing historical battles centered around the Templars and the Lancasters, such as Monte Gisardo, Towton, and Agincourt. While it’s good, I can’t help but crave more from the team – I’d love to see them broaden Age of Empires IV with entirely new civilizations instead of variants of existing ones. Let’s bring Portugal back into the fold!
This new DLC is coming out on April 8th, 2025.
Endless Legend II Is One Of The Most Antecipated Games Of 2025
2025 marks the anticipated arrival of Endless Legend 2, and Amplitude Studios has been delving deeper into some of their civilizations as part of an intriguing series. As a fan, I’m particularly drawn to one faction: Kin of Sheredyn. This defensive group emphasizes fortification and strategic holding, making it a compelling choice for me. In truth, if the unique qualities of the factions in Endless Legend 1 – their captivating 4X classic – are any indication, we’re in for an exceptional experience with the sequel.
The Cataclismo Is Now Out, Causing Strategic Cataclismic Events
As an ardent enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that my favorite title, Cataclismo by Hooded Horse and Digital Sun, has graduated from Early Access. This captivating strategy game, reminiscent of Stronghold and They Are Billions, plunges you into a world where defense against hordes is paramount.
In Cataclismo, you construct your fortifications, stone by painstaking stone, offering an unprecedented level of customization that can lead to some truly unique, chaotic, and potentially hazardous defensive structures. The downside? Well, those meticulously crafted walls might just crumble, taking your troops and the enemy with them!
After spending a couple of hours immersed in its intricate gameplay, I found myself captivated, but the building aspect proved a tad too complex for my taste. However, with a Steam rating of 91%, sitting pretty in the Very Positive category, it’s definitely worth checking out!
Thronefall Last Update
Thronefall, the popular indie tower-defense game, has announced its final update, marking an end to further development on
92% Of PC Gamers Really Love Older Titles
Hey there fellow gamer! Here’s something interesting I stumbled upon: According to Newzoo, we’ve got over 907 million PC gamers globally, which is quite the crowd compared to the 650 million console users. Now, That’s right, you heard it. A quarter of us (25%) prefer games that are between two to five years old, and only 8% of us play games that are less than two years old. Sounds crazy at first glance, but when you think about it, the sheer number of players hooked on live-service titles, Early Access games that have been around for ages, and our tendency to revisit older games we’ve grown fond of over time, these figures start making a lot more sense, don’t they?
Wargame Design Studio – Sword & Siege Out Now
Total War. In my recent review, I found the game to be quite enjoyable, although you may need to adapt to Wargame Design Studio’s older user interface and be prepared for some extensive clicking. If your passion lies in medieval military history, particularly the Crusades, then Sword & Siege could be just what you’re looking for. If you’re still on the fence, feel free to read my review for more insights.
Sins of a Solar Empire 2 – Paths to Power DLC
In 2024, the top Real-Time Strategy game of the year, Sins of a Solar Empire II, is set to release its first DLC titled Paths to Power. This additional content comes with 10 new mission maps for diverse gaming experiences. These maps vary from traditional king of the hill scenarios, to destructive seek and destroy missions, and defensive tasks where you’ll be defending against waves of attacks – just as demonstrated in the trailer above.
Phatom Brigade Keeps Getting Better and Better
The outstanding yet underappreciated game Phantom Brigade continues to receive updates, and the developers have hinted at a fresh release. Although details are scarce, it’s clear from a prior developer announcement that they’re focusing on improving Pilot Traits and Progression, refining the world map gameplay for a more balanced campaign, and preventing repetitive enemy encounters, missed mission types, or running out of battles to engage in. Given these developments, it seems we might be approaching the final stages of Phantom Brigade development, as the team has stated that “most design explorations and significant system changes are completed, and our current focus is on ensuring stability, quality, and adding diversity to the content”.
