This week’s Warhammer Skulls Festival is full of exciting news for video game fans of the franchise. We now know when Dawn of War 4 will be released and have seen more of its Crusade Mode. A sequel to the strategy game Chaos Gate – featuring the popular Deathwatch Space Marines – is also in development, and MicroProse has announced Battlespace Command, a large-scale wargame planned for release in 2026.
Dawn of War 4 Release Date and Crusade Mode Announced
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV has a release date! Fans of real-time strategy games can look forward to September 17, 2026, when Deep Silver and KING Art Games launch the highly anticipated sequel. Announced during the Warhammer Skulls event, the game will once again put players in the middle of the intense conflict for Kronus. The popular Crusade Mode will be returning after launch as a free update, and there are plans for both free and paid downloadable content, including new campaigns, factions, and battlepacks.
Microprose Announced Battlespace Command
MicroProse has announced Battlespace Command, a large-scale, realistic modern warfare strategy game developed by Wirraway Software. It’s a promising title that could easily become one of the most anticipated wargames. The game focuses on tactical realism, eliminating simplified game mechanics and requiring players to directly control units across massive, realistically generated battlefields. Players will manage complex systems like sensors, electronic warfare, and rules of engagement, utilizing over 250 accurate land, air, and sea units. It’s an ambitious project, and I’ll be following its development closely, hoping it finally delivers a truly convincing infantry combat experience – something no other game has quite achieved.
Warhammer 40.000 – Battlesector Welcomes The Ultramarines

The Ultramarines, a legendary faction from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, are now available as downloadable content (DLC) for the turn-based strategy game Battlesector. Developed by Black Lab Games and published by Slitherine, Battlesector is widely considered a top game in its genre, and this expansion adds powerful new units like the Captain in Gravis Armor, Heavy Intercessors, and Bladeguard Veterans. To mark the launch, the main Battlesector game is free to try on Steam until May 28th. The Ultramarines DLC is priced at $14.99.
Warhammer 40.000 – Gladius Is Free To Keep

Slitherine is giving away Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War on Steam for a limited time. This popular strategy game focuses on intense battles for planetary domination, letting you build cities, research technology, and manage resources to wipe out your opponents. It simplifies things by skipping complicated diplomacy and going straight to war!
