Strategy and Wargaming News – 3rd August – Terminator: Dark Fate New DLC, MicroProse New Game, Battlefield 6, A Lot Of New Gameplay Footage for RTS Games!

This week saw a bit of a lull in the strategy gaming world, but there was no shortage of excitement in the first-person shooter genre. Given our shared passion for first-person shooters, let’s switch things up and cover some strategy and wargaming news with an added focus on exciting FPS content! As for the strategy updates in this roundup, we will primarily feature new gameplay previews for games yet to be released. Fantastic stuff!

Battlefield 6 Revealed And Looks Amazing!

After more than ten years, it seems like the Battlefield series has regained its footing following the unveiling of Battlefield 6, and I must admit, I’m absolutely thrilled about it. The way the battles unfold feels reminiscent of Battlefield 1, while the return of the Battlefield 3 classes and the iconic destruction that made Bad Company 2 a hit are just the cherry on top. In fact, I’m so eager for what’s in store that I find myself right in the midst of a Battlefield 1 match as I write this. Guess I better get back to it!

Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance: Uprising Out Now

As a fervent admirer of gaming, I’m still haunted by my omission in not penning a review for Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance, a title that truly deserves recognition for its exceptional gameplay. Regrettably, one critic at IGN bestowed upon it an undeserved 5, which is rather unfortunate. Thankfully, the game’s success story unfolded, and it now boasts a highly positive rating on Steam, a testament to its merit.

In brief, the latest expansion for the original game is called “Uprising.” This update offers an innovative twist on gameplay by incorporating a dynamic, tactical campaign that places you in charge of the Resistance as you engage in combat against both the Legion and various human factions. The campaign unfolds across 22 distinct maps, each serving as a battlefield for real-time strategy encounters. Given its novelty, it could tempt me to revisit the game and check out the current state of play, more than a year after its initial release.

Burden of Command Finally Has The Greenlight In Germany

One of my all-time favorite games, Burden of Command, has recently gone on sale in Germany, nearly four months after its initial release in April. The game’s creator, Luke Hughes, has consistently refused to water down the game to cater to sensitive audiences, even if it meant losing a significant portion of his audience: “The delay in entering the German market undeniably cost us sales. However, our team is deeply devoted to historical accuracy, as we believe our audience is too. This dedication resulted in historically accurate images, including Swastikas and graphic war violence. We’re thankful that the German USK rating committee recognized the authentic and socially appropriate context of these historical symbols, awarding the title a 16+ age rating.” To mark this achievement, the game is currently being offered at a 20% discount.

MicroProse To Publish New Tycoon Game

As an enthusiast, I can’t help but express my excitement over Microprose’s latest acquisition – the witty Car Park Capital. In this game, you transform thriving cities and towns into capitalist nightmares, turning them into parking lots, and even charging people for the privilege! The 90s aesthetic is simply stunning, and the satirical vibe aligns flawlessly with the theme, making it a truly enjoyable experience.
