Stray out today for Nintendo Switch

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for unique experiences, I must say that Stray has piqued my curiosity ever since its initial release. The idea of exploring a neon-soaked world as a cat, a creature known for their agility and curiosity, is simply intriguing!

Following its launch on PC, PS4, and PlayStation 5 in 2022, the publisher Annapurna Interactive has revealed that the game Stray is now available on Nintendo Switch as well.

In case the picture at the start of this article didn’t already tip you off, Stray is a game where you assume the role of a cat exploring a vibrant, neon-lit universe. Annapurna Interactive has announced that the physical version of Stray for Nintendo Switch can be bought for £34.99 from various retailers and online marketplaces worldwide. If you prefer a digital copy, it’s also accessible on the eShop. Here’s the link to get it.

In the game Stray, players step into the shoes of a wandering feline, navigating the intricate, neon-bathed backstreets of a crumbling metropolis and the murky depths of its shadowy underbelly. Explore nooks high and low, ward off unexpected dangers, and unravel the secrets hidden within this unwelcoming city populated by curious robots and dangerous creatures. Experience the world through a cat’s perspective and engage with your surroundings in creative ways. Be agile, playful, mischievous, and occasionally annoying to the peculiar inhabitants of this enigmatic realm.

In our initial PS5 review, we expressed that Stray presents an engaging narrative where you’re consistently discovering more about past events as you play. Navigating the city and its environs results in a seamless and enjoyable gameplay experience, albeit with some occasional issues when jumping, which can feel somewhat rigid. However, it excels at replicating the sensation of being a cat authentically. While you may traverse like a feline, it’s in the small details such as meowing, rubbing against robots’ legs, purring during rest, scratching furniture, and playing with toys that showcase the game’s creativity most naturally. The puzzles are cleverly designed, the graphics are stunning, and the music is enchanting throughout.

Stray is out now for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
