Street Fighter 6 Adding Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard in ‘Autumn 2024’

As a long-time fan of both Fatal Fury and Street Fighter series, I couldn’t contain my excitement when Capcom announced Terry Bogard’s inclusion in Street Fighter 6! The Fatal Fury games were a significant part of my childhood, and the iconic character Terry Bogard is a staple in the fighting game community.

Capcom revealed in a fresh preview that Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury is set to become part of the Street Fighter 6 cast in autumn 2024.

Capcom has yet to announce a specific release date for the new content. But, the latest teaser provides information that Bogard will be playable in World Tour, Battle Hub, and Fighting Ground modes.

As a longtime fan of the Fatal Fury series, I must admit that the new teaser for Terry Bogard’s kit in the upcoming game has left me intrigued yet puzzled. The cinematic nature of the reveal leaves much to the imagination, and as someone who has spent countless hours mastering Terry’s moves and abilities in past games, I can’t help but feel a bit nostalgic and excited at the prospect of discovering what new tricks he might have up his sleeve.

In simpler terms, the preview text indicates that supporters have the option to buy Terry using Fighter Coins. Those who have acquired the Year 2 Character Pass or Ultimate Pass won’t need to make this purchase as they’ll gain access to Terry automatically upon his release.

In the 1990s, Fatal Fury became a beloved series that revolutionized the fighting game genre. It’s uncertain if Capcom intends to include Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, and other key characters from this franchise in future projects. These characters have earned a dedicated fanbase, and Terry Bogard’s inclusion in Street Fighter 6 has been met with great approval.

Capcom held a smaller crossover event with Monster Hunter back in April 2024. Unlike the current collaboration, this one primarily focused on cosmetic items.

In June 2023, Street Fighter 6 was unveiled to positive reception from critics, with over one million players joining in within the first three days of its release. Capcom then announced an upward revision of their earnings projections in April 2024, attributing this success to both Street Fighter 6 and Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Street Fighter fans also look forward to a new movie, which recently got a release window of 2026.
