As a long-time fan of the Street Fighter series, I am beyond excited about the latest addition to the roster: Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury. This crossover character announcement during Summer Game Fest and EVO 2024 was a game-changer for me, bringing back fond memories of playing both Street Fighter and Fatal Fury games growing up.

A freshly revealed trailer for “Street Fighter 6” offers fans a sneak peek of its initial crossover character: Terry Bogard from “Fatal Fury.” This is the first time a mainline “Street Fighter” game has integrated guest characters from outside the series.

At the latest Summer Game Fest, Capcom revealed that infamous “Street Fighter” antagonist M. Bison and newcomer Elena will be introduced as DLC in the 2023 edition of “Street Fighter,” titled “Street Fighter 6.” This upcoming batch of fighters also includes Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from SNK’s “Fatal Fury” series, marking the first time Capcom has included guest characters not under their own development or publication. Approximately a month after M. Bison became playable on June 26, Capcom shared an exhilarating sneak peek into one of the upcoming guest character trailers.

At EVO 2024, a sneak peek of Terry from Street Fighter 6 was unveiled in a trailer. Known for his role in Fatal Fury and sharing the stage with Mai in The King of Fighters series, Terry is set to join the upcoming Street Fighter installment this fall. Both Fatal Fury and Street Fighter were brought to life by the renowned Japanese game designer Takashi Nishiyama. After working at Capcom and SNK, Nishiyama established Dimps, a studio primarily known for developing mobile games in collaboration with Bandai Namco Entertainment.

For those who have purchased the Ultimate Pass or the Year 2 Character Pass for “Street Fighter 6,” Terry will be granted to you once he becomes available. Alternatively, Terry can also be unlocked using the game’s currency called Fighter Coins. Each Season 1 DLC character, including M. Bison, costs 350 Fighter Coins. However, Fighter Coins can only be acquired by purchasing bundles; for instance, $6.99 and $11.99 packages provide 250 and 610 coins respectively. These coins are not only limited to unlocking characters but can also be used for cosmetics, stages, and the monthly Fighting Passes.

Instead of just “Fatal Fury, Capcom’s new Street Fighter 6 has teamed up with various other franchises since its release.” In April, for Monster Hunter’s 20th anniversary celebration, there was a collaboration between “Street Fighter 6” and “Monster Hunter.” The crossovers with popular series “Spy x Family” and Nickelodeon’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” took place in the year 2023. Currently, “Street Fighter 6” is still collaborating with the comedy manga series “Pop Team Epic” and digital collectible card game “WWE SuperCard” until August.
