As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, the announcement of Mai joining the Street Fighter 6 roster is nothing short of exhilarating! Having grown up playing SNK’s Fatal Fury series, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and excitement for this iconic character’s arrival.
Capcom has unveiled a sneak peek at the upcoming member of the Street Fighter 6 team, Mai, with her expected arrival slated for early 2025.
It’s very much a teaser of what’s to come, but it’s nearly two minutes in length, with the following info:
Mai will instruct you on all the Shiranui moves that you can manage, but remember not to make her wait. This kind-hearted character hailing from the Fatal Fury series by SNK is set to join Street Fighter 6 by early 2025!
You can buy Mai separately using Fighter Coins, while those who own the Year 2 Character Pass or Ultimate Pass will receive automatic access to Mai once she is released.

It appears this scene is set in the World Tour game mode, likely depicting the initial encounter with the character Mai within the World Tour. Characters M Bison and Terry have already been released in the game, while Elena and Mai are expected to join later – Elena in Spring 2025, and Mai in Winter 2025.
