As a seasoned angler and ardent player of Fields of Mistria, I must say that catching the elusive Striped Bass has become one of my most cherished pastimes within this enchanting game world. The thrill of reeling in this magnificent fish during the crisp autumn months is unparalleled!
In the captivating world of Fields of Mistria, I’ve found myself immersed not just in battles and quests, but also in a unique aspect – fishing! It seems that to fully complete the Museum, fishing is a necessity, whether you’re a fan or not. The fishing spots are diverse, ranging from serene ponds to swift rivers and vast oceans. Yet, not every fish can be caught throughout the year. For the Museum in Mistria, I’ve discovered that the required fish are seasonal catches. One such elusive prize is the Striped Bass, which only makes an appearance during fall. Not only does it swim freely during this season, but you can only reel it in at particular locations.
Fields of Mistria: How to Catch Striped Bass
Pond Fishing
During autumn, Striped Bass can be spotted in various ponds, regardless of the weather. These large aquatic creatures cast significant shadows in the water. Ponds on The Eastern Road’s southern half and one to the left of Mistria’s manor are ideal locations for finding them. Given their common nature, fishing in these Eastern Road ponds increases your chances of catching several Striped Bass.
You don’t need to be at a certain level to hook a Striped Bass, but you may consider unlocking these perks at Caldarus’ statue:
- Weedline Watcher (lvl 1): Fishing up junk will become less likely.
- Appealing Reeling (lvl 1): Fish will become attracted to your Bobber from a greater range.
Using a more robust fishing rod instead of the worn-out one might prove beneficial too, as it enables you to throw your line farther out into the water.
Where to Use Striped Bass
Can You Cook It?
On the 3rd of Fall, visit the Request Board to obtain the “Catch a Striped Bass” mission from Eiland. Finishing this task will earn you 450 Tesserae and some Renown. Additionally, a Striped Bass is required to complete the Fall Pond collection for the Fishing Wing at the Museum. However, it’s best not to give away Striped Bass as gifts since they don’t seem to be popular among Mistria residents.
At present, no culinary recipes call for Striped Bass. If you have previously donated one to the museum or completed the “Request for a Striped Bass,” it would be more beneficial to sell it. Regrettably, there are limited options for using Striped Bass other than selling it (40 Tesserae).
