Capcom is a highly regarded Japanese game company known for creating a diverse range of popular and successful franchises. Games like Monster Hunter, Mega Man, Resident Evil, and Street Fighter have made Capcom a major player in the video game industry.
Capcom has created so many popular game series, starting with classic arcade games in the 80s, that it’s hard to imagine who would win in a battle between them all. We’ve selected the most powerful characters from each series – from demon hunters like Dante to godlike figures like Amaterasu – and will rank them based on their raw strength and range of abilities.
| Character | Game Franchise/Title | What’s Their Power? |
|---|---|---|
| Ingrid | Street Fighter | Psychic powers and time control. |
| MegaMan.EXE | Mega Man Battle Network | Data hacking and manipulation. |
| Harman Smith | killer7 | Can steal souls and control them. |

10. MegaMan.EXE
HACK THE PLANET!
MegaMan.EXE is the main character in the Mega Man Battle Network series. When considering the entire Mega Man franchise, it’s difficult to say who the strongest character is, but MegaMan.EXE makes a strong argument for that title.
MegaMan.EXE is a digital being who can access any computer network globally. This gives him immense power, and if his operator, Lan, were to misuse that power, MegaMan.EXE could potentially control machines – even cyborgs – to take over the world, making him a surprisingly dangerous hero.
9. Ryu
Pull The D-Cord
Ryu is the main character in each Breath of Fire game, and they all share a special ability: turning into dragons. The Ryu from Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter is considered the most powerful, capable of easily defeating even the hardest enemies thanks to his dragon transformations.
There’s a downside to this powerful transformation: it quickly fills up Ryu’s D-Counter. If that meter reaches 100%, the game ends. So, while the transformation is incredibly strong, it’s actually risky for Ryu to use, but he still deserves a spot on this list.
8. Harman Smith
Losing My Minds
Harman Smith, an elderly man who uses a wheelchair, is the central character in the game Killer7. Years ago, he defeated and absorbed the souls of seven assassins. Throughout the game, players control these seven different personalities, each possessing a distinct weapon and ability.
Characters like Con Smith can use two pistols, while MASK de Smith utilizes two grenade launchers. If allowed to continue, Harmon might become even more powerful by absorbing more souls, but he’s already a formidable opponent with his seven different assassin forms.
7. Albert Wesker
The Matrix Reject
Albert Wesker was first introduced in Resident Evil as a member of S.T.A.R.S., seemingly trapped in the Spencer Mansion. However, it’s eventually discovered he was secretly working for the Umbrella Corporation. What sets Wesker apart from other villains in the series is that he gains incredible abilities – super strength, rapid healing, and extreme speed – without physically transforming into a monster.
Wesker remained a formidable opponent throughout the series, surviving numerous clashes with the main characters. However, his ambition led to his downfall in Resident Evil 5. In his attempt to become the ultimate being, he went too far and was finally defeated by being thrown into a volcano.
6. Joe
A Spiritual Power Ranger
Joe is the main character in Viewtiful Joe, and he gets incredible powers when the world of his favorite movies comes to life. He transforms into a hero with a stylish red suit, similar to a Power Ranger, and gains control over time. This allows him to deliver much more powerful punches and kicks, and even speed up or slow down time itself.
Changing the speed of an attack, like slowing down a punch or speeding up a kick, can alter its impact in battle. But even a small ability to manipulate time, when considered outside the game itself, immediately puts someone in the running as one of the strongest characters.
5. Dante
Live Long And Pizza On
Dante, the hero of the Devil May Cry games, is half-human and half-demon. This unique heritage grants him incredible abilities like superhuman speed, strength, and healing, and allows him to use powerful weapons to defeat demons that no ordinary human could manage.
Dante can briefly turn into a powerful demon to enhance his fighting abilities. Though he’s known for his goofy jokes and rough sense of humor, this demon hunter remains a formidable opponent, even in Devil May Cry 5, despite being older now.
4. Fortinbras
The Demon Lord
Fortinbras is the last boss you’ll face in Onimusha: Warlords, the first game in the Onimusha series. He’s a powerful demon lord, considered the god of all demons in his world, and he once made an agreement with humans, granting them control of the Earth.
Though Fortinbras dies, his influence continues through the character Lord Nobunaga in the second and third games. After Nobunaga’s defeat, Fortinbras returns in the fourth game, Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. He’s incredibly strong, massive in size, and can control demons – plus, he seems to be able to come back to life endlessly. These abilities make him a truly powerful figure.
3. Ingrid
A Fighter Of Unknown Origin
Ingrid debuted in Capcom Fighting Evolution, but she’s primarily known as a character in the Street Fighter series. Her backstory is largely a mystery. Despite appearing as a young girl, she has the ability to alter her genes, allowing her to maintain that youthful look even though she might be incredibly old – potentially centuries old.
Ingrid is a powerful new character coming to Street Fighter 6 who can do more than just alter her genes. She also possesses psychic powers, allowing her to create energy and even travel through time. While Capcom will likely reveal more about her origins when she’s released, it’s already evident that Ingrid is a character with incredible, almost divine abilities.
2. Amaterasu
Bark At The Moon
In the game Okami, Amaterasu is the sun goddess who begins weakened, with her powers locked inside her wolf form. As players rescue other gods, Amaterasu grows stronger. She has the amazing ability to briefly stop time and use a magical paintbrush to fight enemies and even build things like bombs.
Players can use this ability both during battles and when solving puzzles – for example, they could draw a bridge to repair it. Possessing incredible strength, the power to control time, and the ability to create things are all telltale signs of a truly powerful being.
1. Chakravartin
The God Of Gods
Chakravartin is the main villain and final boss of the game Asura’s Wrath. The gods in this game are incredibly powerful – possessing cosmic abilities that let them manipulate their size to an enormous degree, even becoming larger than the Earth. In fact, Asura’s Wrath is packed with huge, spectacular boss battles that would appeal to fans of over-the-top action like Dragon Ball.
Asura’s fight with Chakravartin is incredibly intense. Chakravartin uses every ability at their disposal – growing in size, unleashing powerful energy, and even achieving a perfect fighting form – all in an attempt to win. While Asura ultimately defeats Chakravartin, the narrative establishes that Chakravartin is essentially the supreme deity of their universe, a truly significant position.
