The anime and manga series One Piece is now focusing on the Elbaf storyline, and with the recent reveal of details about God Valley, things are expected to become even more thrilling. Although God Valley was mentioned about six years ago, its full story wasn’t shown until the current Elbaf arc.

Initially, many fans thought the story of God Valley centered around Rocks, Roger, and Garp. However, it’s now evident that the island’s true significance lies with just two characters: Blackbeard and Shanks. Oda seems to have preserved the bloodline of Davy – someone Imu greatly fears – within Blackbeard, but he may have actually preserved the bloodline of Joy Boy within Shanks, a possibility that has surprised even the most dedicated fans.

Interestingly, the chapter shows Shanks and Blackbeard being rescued from God Valley. Adding to the mystery, Shanks is referred to as the ‘Child of Destiny,’ leading fans to speculate that he might actually be a descendant of Joy Boy, possibly through his mother who was present at God Valley.

I’ve noticed some compelling evidence suggesting a connection between Shanks and the legendary Joy Boy. Beyond the hints Oda has dropped in the story, there’s a striking visual parallel. When Oda showed us a silhouette of Joy Boy through Queen Otohime on Fishman Island, it looked remarkably like Shanks – same hair, even the cape. It’s hard not to see the resemblance.

During the Egghead arc, Oda briefly showed what Joy Boy’s Haki looked like, and fans noticed it was remarkably similar to Shanks’s. Hints throughout the story suggest Shanks might be descended from Joy Boy through his mother’s side of the family. This would mean Shanks has a connection to both the D clan and the Celestial Dragons, potentially making him the character destined to fulfill the ancient prophecies.
