Each one of them possesses unique abilities that set them apart from their peers, making for some truly exhilarating narratives.

Youkai, or Yokai, refer to various supernatural beings in traditional Japanese stories. These entities can encompass quite a range, with many diverse characters being classified as youkai.

In anime, there are numerous characters that often take on supernatural roles, such as demonic beings similar to those found in Claymore. Through the years, these series have showcased some incredibly potent spirit entities, or yokai, displaying an array of extraordinary abilities.

Only one youkai will be considered from each anime title.

This character is renowned as the most powerful Onmyoji that history has ever recorded. Remarkably, Abe no Seimei was not just a fictional character; he was said to have walked among us during the Heian era, a real individual whose legend endures even today.

In the anime, Nue possesses immense powers, including the ability to wield dark magic capable of causing immediate death. Among his various feats, he even managed to obliterate half a city with a single swing. He’s powerful enough to engage Rikuo, the third heir of the Nura clan, in an equally matched battle.

This formidable being is capable of overpowering nearly any other youkai, and it’s this terrifying prowess that instills deep-rooted fear. In addition to his shape-shifting abilities, he wields a spiritual beam of light, employing it strategically to vanquish adversaries.
