- Tokoyami and Tetsutetsu showcased creative Quirk use and durability to pass all their exams successfully.
To earn the title of a true hero in the realm of “My Hero Academia“, an individual must initially pass a series of challenging tests to demonstrate their worthiness. Although some of these tests are essentially written exams requiring the candidate to answer a sequence of intricate questions for a high grade, most involve thrilling activities that demand students to display their heroism in combat by engaging in physical exercises and missions on the battlefield.
Among numerous hasty champions who didn’t pass these tests, a multitude have demonstrated their dependability and efficiency by acquiring outstanding grades in every exam. These assessments serve as the decisive factor in granting someone the privilege to safeguard the hero community. Given that the characters from My Hero Academia below excelled in all of their exams, it was evident to the U.A.’s educators that they were committed to becoming heroes in their own right.
8. Ochaco Uraraka
Uraraka Made Good Use Of Her Quirk To Rescue Others In Need
- First Appearance: Episode 4
- Quirk: Zero Gravity
Initially, Uraraka appeared as an extremely innocent and shy prospective hero with minimal self-assurance. However, it didn’t take long for her confidence to soar, enabling her to effortlessly pass the exams. Despite experiencing some challenges in managing her Zero Gravity Quirk during the Apprehension Test, it was her eagerness to utilize this distinctive ability to aid others that truly distinguished Uraraka in subsequent exams.
In the Provisional License Test, she managed to save numerous civilians by lifting them out of debris using her powers. Furthermore, she effectively employed her abilities during confrontations with character Thirteen, who skillfully tested both Uraraka and Yuga to their utmost capabilities. It goes without saying that Uraraka was a student who was highly motivated to achieve top grades when class 1-A was still preparing for exams before the villains intervened.
7. Itsuka Kendo
Kendo Showed A Lot Of Promise As A Hero Through The Exams
- First Appearance: Episode 15
- Quirk: Big Fist
Viewers might recall Kendo as the boisterous student with an unusual ability to expand her hands through her Quirk. Despite being a member of Class 1-B, which means she doesn’t appear frequently throughout the series, Kendo is not just a brute force character. She demonstrates impressive intellect as well, consistently excelling in all exams.
In the entrance test for the U.A., even though there was intense rivalry, Kendo ended up in fifth position, demonstrating that she isn’t just competent at taking down any obstacles along her path but also at saving civilians. At first glance, it might appear that all Kendo aspires to do is destroy everything around her, but beneath her tough exterior lies a great deal of intelligence she doesn’t always showcase.
6. Fumikage Tokoyami
Employed His Absurdly Powerful Quirk To Score High Marks
- First Appearance: Episode 5
- Quirk: Dark Shadow
In a simpler and more conversational way: Tokoyami’s power, which creates a massive shadow of darkness, may appear extremely powerful at first glance. However, it’s quite challenging to manage, especially during nighttime. Consequently, Tokoyami had to concentrate heavily during exams to avoid any mishaps when demonstrating his skills. Fortunately, he lived up to expectations.
As a fervent admirer, I’ve always been captivated by Tokoyami’s ingenious methods of exploiting his shadow during combat, particularly against Ectoplasm whose up-close fighting style initially posed a challenge, making it tough for me to close the gap. Nevertheless, Tokoyami’s remarkable success earned him an extraordinary opportunity – a chance to learn under the esteemed Pro-Hero Hawks. This mentorship not only allowed Tokoyami to perfect his Quirk but also helped him grow exponentially in strength.
5. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu
Used His Steel Body To Showcase His Durability To The Teachers
- First Appearance: Episode 15
- Quirk: Real Steel
In the series, there’s a character named Tetsutetsu who unfortunately doesn’t get much screen time, which is unfortunate given his entertaining nature. He’s a student with an unique ability – transforming his body into steel in just seconds! This makes him quite formidable during physical tests due to his exceptional durability that surpasses many of his peers.
During the exams, a friendly rivalry developed between him and Kirisihima, given their Quirks were remarkably similar. This led both of them to strive to prove whose talent surpassed the other’s. Tetsutetsu demonstrated during the exams that he was no pushover, as he effortlessly aced each one with excellent results.
4. Yuga Aoyama
Despite Struggling To Use His Quirk, Aoyama Still Performed When He Needed To
- First Appearance: Episode 4
- Quirk: Navel Lazer
Initially, due to circumstances detailed later in the narrative, Aoyama struggled immensely adapting to his Quirk during the early arcs. This struggle made it appear as though he would lag behind his fellow Class 1-A students in terms of exam performance. Yet, through diligent effort and a touch of good fortune, he managed to persevere and pass without any significant issues.
During the written tests, Aoyama put in a great deal of effort and was well-prepared to avoid any hiccups. Yet, when it mattered most, he effectively utilized his Quirk. Notably, having Uraraka as his partner during the First Term Final Exam proved beneficial because he wouldn’t have been able to hold his own against Thirteen alone.
3. Momo Yaoyorozu
Momo Overcame Her Self-Doubt To Become A Top Student
- First Appearance: Episode 6
- Quirk: Creation
As an onlooker, it’s evident that the power to conjure nearly anything from nothing is a coveted ability, desired by both heroes and villains alike. However, merely possessing the Creation Quirk doesn’t automatically make Momo powerful. In fact, the immense stamina drain this quirk imposes when used excessively was vividly demonstrated during the exams, serving as a grueling test of her resilience. Despite every trial she faced, she persevered and overcame each one. Yet, there were instances where self-doubt crept in, underscoring the challenges she had to confront.
In the First Term Final Exam, she and Todoroki found themselves going up against their teacher, Aizawa, in a contest. At first, Momo was at a loss as to how she could help in the fight. However, with some motivational words from her partner, she regained her confidence and discovered the full potential of her Quirk. This hidden power not only boosted her own abilities but also proved useful for helping others during combat.
2. Tenya Ida
Teachers Would Expect Nothing Less From The Perky Class President
- First Appearance: Episode 5
- Quirk: Engine
In contrast to most students in Class 1-A who occasionally play around or nap during classes, the class president, Tenya Ida, stands out as a diligent student. Ida is deeply committed to his education and typically aces exams with minimal effort. What sets him apart isn’t just his intelligence, but also his possession of a Quirk that enables superhuman speed, placing him at an immediate advantage against many adversaries he encounters in the school’s challenges.
Ida effortlessly defeated villains by outsmarting them and striking unexpectedly. His swift speed enabled him to rescue innocent people instantly. The teachers at UA noticed this impressive performance, as Ida excelled in every exam, paving the way for his eventual transformation into a Pro Hero, much like his elder brother.
1. Izuku Midoriya
Midoriya Put Everything On The Line To Prove His Worth As A Hero
- First Appearance: Episode 1
- Quirk: One For All
In the tests at U.A., Midoriya found himself significantly behind his peers due to a unique circumstance: he had relatively recently acquired his Quirk instead of being born with it. This short timeframe left him with the challenging task of building the necessary confidence to harness the immense power of One For All, a Quirk so potent that it could obliterate the user’s body if not handled carefully. Consequently, Midoriya’s journey through the exams was far from smooth sailing, but his unyielding aspiration to become a genuine hero drove him to tackle each and every one of them, regardless of the difficulties.
In the Entrance Exam, Midoriya didn’t earn a single point for defeating villains, but he shone brilliantly during rescue missions, demonstrating his selfless dedication to saving others from the very start of the story. Over time, as Midoriya honed his abilities, he significantly improved in exams and quickly became one of U.A.’s top prospects, all within a short span of time.
