As a long-time fan of the Halo franchise and an admirer of Axis Studios’ exceptional work, I am deeply saddened by the news that this esteemed animation and VFX studio is shutting down after 24 impressive years in operation. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, with branches in Bristol and London, Axis Studios has been a significant player in the gaming industry, producing captivating cinematics for Halo and many other renowned games.
I’m deeply saddened to share that after an impressive 24-year journey, Axis Studios – the talented team behind many Halo series cinematics and numerous other acclaimed game projects – is shutting down. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, with branches in Bristol and London, they’ve now left over 160 people jobless due to this closure. The animation and VFX industry will certainly feel the absence of their significant contributions, creating a vacuum that only another prominent studio can fill.
