Dreamhaven, a publishing company spearheaded by ex-Blizzard Entertainment team members, including Michael Morhaime, unveiled the initial project developed in-house by their studio, Moonshot Games.
The game called Wildgate is a team-oriented multiplayer shooter where players engage in player-versus-player combat. At the Dreamhaven Showcase, which was hosted by The Game Awards, Jason Chayes, head of Moonshot Gamers, and Dustin Browder, director of Moonshot Games, unveiled
They described the game’s environment as a perilous area on the galaxy’s outskirts, beyond the reach of law enforcement, and likened it to a colossal Bermuda Triangle. In simpler terms, this isn’t the safest corner of the galaxy, but there are riches and spoils to be found, so it’s an exciting place to explore!
As a gamer, I’ll be joining forces with four other teams, each commanding our own ship, in an epic battle to seize the coveted artifact and make a daring escape for ultimate victory. Alternatively, I can triumph by outsmarting and outlasting all my opponents in this thrilling contest.
Wildgate Looks To Borrow From Popular Multiplayer Games

For years now, Blizzard developers have been taking popular gameplay elements from other titles and giving them their unique twist. Instead of being revolutionary, World of Warcraft excels by combining the finest aspects of the MMO genre, refining it, and making it more user-friendly for players.
Although Moonshot’s first game isn’t developed directly by Blizzard, it’s important to note that Dreamhaven was established by former Blizzard Entertainment team members. Consequently, it’s no wonder that the feel of Moonshot’s debut title seems like a blend of Sea of Thieves and Escape From Tarkov.
Each team will comprise diverse prospectors, each boasting unique talents and competencies. A captivating aspect of this game lies in the fact that every contest will unfold on a randomly generated terrain, guaranteeing an exclusive experience for every encounter.
2025 marks the launch of Wildgate, available not just for PC but also for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. If you’re eager to test it before release, mark your calendars! A playtest is scheduled from April 10th through 14th, open to all platforms. Head over to their website to register.
