Subnautica 2 Early Access Launches in 2025

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of submerged adventures under my belt, the announcement of Subnautica 2 has me absolutely thrilled! The prospect of diving back into the mesmerizing underwater world that Unknown Worlds Entertainment has crafted is beyond exciting. I’ve been waiting for this moment since I first embarked on my journey in the alien ocean of Subnautica.

After achieving great success with games like Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero, it was only a matter of time before Unknown Worlds Entertainment decided to fully commit to a sequel. And now, the wait is over! At the Xbox Partner Preview, this independent studio officially announced Subnautica 2, with an estimated release date in Early Access by 2025.

Regrettably, the unveiling trailer doesn’t showcase any gameplay. Instead, it provides a distinctive cinematic glimpse into an underwater realm, featuring various creatures, some of which will be familiar to longtime fans, as well as two new characters—a man and woman—as they confront a colossal Kraken-like beast emerging from the abyss!
