2025 looks promising for updates on the secret projects that Suda 51 and his team at Grasshopper Manufacture have been working on, as it will mark three years since the release of No More Heroes 3 by Suda 51.

4Gamer (via Gematsu) reported a year-end feature with over 160 game developers, including Suda 51, who hinted at a possible announcement of a new title in 2025. In other words, it’s clear as day that he plans to unveil something new next year; the exact timing remains uncertain.

Suda 51’s Past Body Of Work Has Been Very Varied

Since Suda 51 last launched the action-adventure game No More Heroes 3, it’s hard to predict that his future projects will stick to the same genre. In fact, Suda has shown a knack for versatility in video game development, with past titles spanning various genres such as Sine Moira, a shoot-’em-up game, and Fire Pro Wrestling World, where he served as a scenario writer.

As a longtime fan of horror games, I have had the pleasure of immersing myself in various chilling experiences over the years. Among these, one that stands out is Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. Having had the unique opportunity to work on this game, I can attest to the sheer amount of dedication and passion poured into its creation. First released back in 2008, it has now been given new life with a re-release on current-generation consoles in March 2023.

The journey of working on Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse was an exhilarating one, where I got to design, co-direct, and even contribute to the writing process for this installment of the beloved horror franchise. I can confidently say that the game’s terrifying atmosphere, captivating storyline, and engaging mechanics have only been enhanced by this re-release, making it a must-play for any fan of the genre. If you haven’t experienced Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse yet, I highly recommend giving it a try – you won’t be disappointed!

Among Suda 51’s best-known works apart from No More Heroes are Killer7 and Lollipop Chainsaw. Regarding a potential sequel for Killer7, there have been no announcements as of yet. However, Lollipop Chainsaw did receive a remake titled Lollipop Chainsaw RePop by Dragami Games, which was launched on consoles and PC this September, without any contribution from Suda 51.

2023 saw updates regarding the project Suda was developing, with the creator announcing the creation of a massive-scale action game, surpassing anything he had worked on previously.
