Kill the Justice League”, is facing job cuts prior to the year 2024 coming to an end.
Based on an article by Eurogamer, it’s reported that around six employees from various departments such as programming, art, quality assurance, and more were let go in September. Similarly, Rocksteady underwent layoffs last September, attributing the decision to weak sales, which necessitated a reorganization of their team.
In December, approximately 100 employees were let go by WB Games Montreal, primarily because of the underperformance of their game, Suicide Squad.
Prior to its launch, there were worries that the game might seem outdated due to the waning popularity of live-service looter-shooters. The disappointing outcomes of previous attempts such as Anthem had led to a decline in interest for this type of game.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Is One of the Most Notorious Flops in Recent History
As a dedicated fan, I must admit that my journey with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League hasn’t been smooth sailing. From a somewhat lukewarm reception on OpenCritic to the turbulence experienced during its initial season, it’s safe to say that many of us gamers have found ourselves less than satisfied with the game’s current state. The development process itself has been a marathon, lasting an impressive (yet perhaps concerning) seven years.
The seeds of potential trouble may have been sown as early as 2022, when two of Rocksteady’s founding members decided to part ways with the company. This departure could be seen as a harbinger of things to come, and it certainly added an air of uncertainty to the game’s eventual release.
2025 marks the conclusion of further updates for the live service game, which has not been successful. The team at Rocksteady Studios will cease to provide additional content beyond Season 4, offering an offline playing option. Additionally, the developers will guarantee that all items players have acquired, including in-game purchases, can be accessed in offline mode.
That’s good news for those who will pick up the game as part of the 2025 PlayStation Plus lineup.
I’m curious to know if the game will manage to draw a crowd on PlayStation Plus, given that at this moment, only around 600 players are simultaneously playing it on Steam.
It’s quite possible that playing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit through PlayStation Plus is the wiser choice for you this month.
