Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Shouldn’t Skimp Out on Deathstroke

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Shouldn't Skimp Out on Deathstroke

As a veteran gamer with over 30 years of gaming under my belt and countless hours spent in the DC universe, I can’t help but feel a sense of disappointment when it comes to post-launch content for games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

One standout aspect of the game “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” was its compelling ensemble of characters. The performances of Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and King Shark were exceptional, while their portrayals remained true to the original comics. From a gameplay perspective, each character offered unique and thrilling ways to move around, and in terms of visual design, every anti-hero was depicted with remarkable fidelity to the source material.

Initially, just four characters were introduced, but that was merely the start for the ongoing game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. As a live-service title, this game is set to introduce new playable characters with each post-launch season, and while the outcomes have been varied thus far, there’s been a mix of reactions.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Needs to Go Above and Beyond With Deathstroke

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s Past Seasons Have Felt Like Half Measures

Ever since the release of “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” in February, Rocksteady has introduced two additional playable characters to their live-service looter-shooter – The Joker and Mrs. Freeze. These Elseworlds incarnations of classic DC antagonists have been receiving a rather split response from gamers. When it comes to gameplay, both the Joker and Mrs. Freeze offer something fresh and exciting. Each character has their own unique movement system that is not only visually appealing but also enjoyable to utilize. Additionally, distinctive character animations help set these villains apart from the standard lineup in the game.

Despite the excitement surrounding additional characters like The Joker and Mrs. Freeze in “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League”, the game falls short when it comes to their post-launch presentation. The designs for both characters have sparked some debate within the fanbase, though they appear somewhat improved during gameplay. However, the main concern lies in the scarcity of story content connected to these new villains.

In a span of one minute, both The Joker and Mrs. Freeze are introduced through a motion comic that outlines their multiverse background. Subsequently, they each receive a three-minute cinematic sequence where they interact with Amanda Waller and the Task Force X team. Apart from some dialogue during gameplay, these two characters post-launch have only had this motion comic and one cutscene developed for their story content.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Can’t Repeat The Same Mistake With Deathstroke

There have been persistent whispers suggesting that Deathstroke could make an appearance as one of the antagonists in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, potentially during the game’s fourth season, slated for a January 2025 release.

Among Batman’s most cherished adversaries, Deathstroke holds a special place in many fans’ hearts due to his extensive history within the Batman: Arkham series. This strong connection to Rocksteady’s portrayal of the character means they must handle him with care in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. A enjoyable traversal experience alone won’t suffice; instead, Rocksteady should focus on creating a visually unique yet faithful design for Deathstroke and providing him with substantial narrative content – something that has been lacking in the game’s post-launch additions.
