As a long-time gamer and avid fan of the Suicide Squad franchise, I’ve been following the developments of “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” with bated breath. The latest DLC has left me utterly stunned, to say the least.
This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
In an unexpected turn of events, the newest downloadable content for the game “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” reveals that players are no longer fighting but saving the previously mind-controlled Earth heroes who were once part of the Justice League. Throughout the main storyline of “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League”, the merciless alien overlord Brainiac takes control of the Justice League, forcing them to pursue the Suicide Squad. By the game’s end, the entire League is deceased; however, things may not be as they seem now that the credits have rolled.
There have been various speculations among gamers about how Rocksteady might bring back their version of the Justice League after the Suicide Squad storyline, with one of the widely accepted theories being that these characters in the game could be clones made by Brainiac to advance his invasion of Metropolis. Recently, leaked DLC audio from Suicide Squad seems to support this notion as it implies that both Green Lantern and The Flash might have survived their brutal deaths at the hands of Task Force X.
In more straightforward terms: The second season of “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,” which debuted recently, hints that The Flash is still alive. According to IGN, a DLC scene depicts the Squad saving The Flash after a fight with a Brainiac duplicate. The Fastest Man Alive inquires about the Squad members’ imprisonment, collapses, and is subsequently put in suspended animation by the team for recovery.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Might Now Be About Saving the Justice League
The cutscene in “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” has ignited much discussion and conjecture among players regarding the potential new direction for the game. While some speculate that the “brainwashed” Justice League members from the main game were actually clones, others argue that they had been killed and later revived by Brainiac. Furthermore, there are those who ponder if this twist might lead to the return of Batman from the Arkhamverse, despite the sad passing of Kevin Conroy in 2022.
The new DLC for Suicide Squad: “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” raises more questions than it answers, yet it appears that the rest of the game’s narrative will focus on Task Force X’s mission to save the remaining members of the Justice League from Brainiac’s grasp. There is speculation that another character might be rescued in Season 3, which is anticipated to introduce Lawless as a playable character. Despite the game’s controversial reception and disappointing sales, this fresh storyline could rekindle player engagement.
