In the story of “Solo Leveling,” our protagonist, Sung Jin-Woo, initially struggles as a disadvantaged E-rank hunter, facing discrimination. However, an unknown entity selects him as its unique player, elevating his status. As the narrative progresses in “Solo Leveling,” we discover that Sung Jin-Woo can enhance his talents and capabilities by defeating monsters, bosses within dungeons, and by overcoming gates. But what transpires when Sung Jin-Woo ascends to level 100?
Sung Jin-Woo has been through a lot since he became a player in the system.
Through relentless determination and a dash of good fortune, he climbed to greatness, eventually earning a spot among the mightiest anime characters in history. What started as a humble hunter soon blossomed into an elite S-rank hunter, whose prowess was acknowledged by powerful nations such as the United States and Russia. His strength became so formidable that South Korea gained recognition as a strong nation with a lone, unstoppable hunter capable of conquering an S-rank gate on his own.
Sung Jin-Woo’s Rough Beginnings
From E-Rank to S-Rank Status
Compared to others who awoke with impressive powers, Sung Jin-Woo found himself with insignificant magical abilities, earning him a low E-rank status that became a subject of ridicule among his fellow hunters. Whenever Jin-Woo joins them for dungeon raids, his peers make fun of his weak powers and laugh at his unimpressive physical appearance. In fact, if Jin-Woo is present, it’s an indication that the upcoming raid will be a breeze. The nickname “the weakest hunter” often brought up in connection with him is reminiscent of the prestigious title held by Choi Jong-in, South Korea’s renowned Ultimate Soldier and head of the Hunters Guild.
From my lowest point, I yearned to reach the greatest heights. I’ve experienced sorrow from weakness perhaps more deeply than others.” (Sung Jin-Woo)
Since the Cartenon Temple incident where he was trapped with other hunters, Jin-Woo’s situation has undergone a dramatic transformation. On the brink of death, Jin-Woo rose to fame after accepting an offer from the system to become its player, enabling him to surpass all other hunters in terms of power upgrades. Through vanquishing various types of monsters, conquering dungeons, and completing the system’s rigorous tasks, Jin-Woo amassed immense strength that left even top-ranked S-rank hunters bewildered.
What Happens After Sung Jin-Woo Reaches Level 100?
Is There a Level Cap in the System?

In the raid on Jeju Island, Sung Jin-Woo achieved level 100 and vanquished the Ant King, dismantling his legion of a thousand ants with the aid of his summoned shadows. This marked a significant milestone in Jin-Woo’s hunter journey, as his reputation spread far beyond South Korea, gaining him recognition on a global scale. Although it wasn’t publicly acknowledged, many began to regard him as a top-tier, nationally acclaimed hunter.
Upon reaching level 100, Jin-Woo was granted access to the Cartenon Temple, the place where his journey started. At level 101, his abilities tailored to his job significantly enhanced. This upgrade reduced the cool-down time of his shadow exchange skills by an hour and enabled him to share his vision with his shadows. Essentially, Jin-Woo’s strength increased beyond expectations, surpassing the belief that level 100 would be his peak level.
“The system uses me, and I use the system.”—Sung Jin-Woo
When Jin-Woo reached level 103, he went back to the Cartenon Temple to encounter Kandiaru, the system’s inventor. Jin-Woo managed to overpower Kandiaru’s temporary form and bar him from accessing the system he built. It is said that Kandiaru intended for Ashborn, the Shadow Monarch, to seize control of Jin-Woo’s body, but instead, Ashborn granted his abilities, including his dark heart, to Jin-Woo, making him his successor. Eventually, the system was erased once its purpose was fulfilled, yet with the authentic powers of the Shadow Monarch now in his possession, Jin-Woo continued to become stronger.
Is There a Limit to Sung Jin-Woo’s Power?

Amongst fans of the Solo Leveling series, there’s a debate brewing over whether Sung Jin-Woo’s abilities have any boundaries. Some spectators argue that his power is essentially limitless, while others suggest that his body may have a maximum capacity it can handle. However, in the storyline, Norma Selner, an upgrader who tested her powers on Jin-Woo, agrees with the former opinion, asserting that Jin-Woo’s abilities have no restrictions at all.
In essence, it’s clear that Jin-Woo’s abilities lack any discernible limits, eventually making him the most formidable character in the series. Remarkably, even his mere presence has the power to shape the world’s events. It’s fortunate, however, that unlike other anime characters who succumb to their inner darkness, Sung Jin-Woo manages to retain his composure despite his immense powers.
