In the Monarchs War storyline, Sung Il-Hwan reappeared, this time defending his son against two powerful rulers. Remarkably, he managed to match their pace and shield his child effectively. However, the Monarchs gained an advantage and injured Sung Il-Hwan. With the Monarchs seemingly ready to end him, Beru suddenly appeared. Recognizing that Jinwoo would take care of the situation, Sung Il-Hwan decided to escape from the encounter instead.
